Driver Rant
So I am driving to work tonight, calmly doing a little more than the speed limit (less than 15km over in a heavily policed area) and some moron in a cobalt rides right up on my bumper, he didn't come flying up on me, just crept up slowly and then planted himself firmly 1 foot from my back bumper.
He stayed there so I slowed down to 50km/h as per the posted limit, man did he get mad! why is it that people assume you are going to speed like a maniac just because you are driving a nice car?! and on top of that question, why do people assume that if they ride your F*^% bumper you will speed up to accomodate their breaking the law?
After a couple of minutes of this jack *** waving his arms and mouthing profanities at my rearview mirror, I dropped it into second and quickly left his dumb *** behind. Someone pulled onto the road bewteen me and him, and he promptly drove up on their bumper (not having been able to actually accelerate to make up the difference between me and him i guess he thought it best to try and teaach the new guy in front of him a lesson...)
What the hell is wrong with drivers? and how the heck do these morons pass their driving tests?
Frustrated at stupid people who have entitlement issues... sigh story of my life (I teach for a living)

I get that all the time on number 8. But it seems to be mostly VW's that will swerve back and forth quickly to show me their awesome handling while 305mm (= a foot, we're Canadian) from my bumper.... and I usually set the cruise @ 101 on #8 which is limited to 90.
I'll let them pass, when I can move over, only to watch them get stuck behind the car that was directly in front of me. Congratulations, you saved your self 3 seconds in the middle of traffic...

lol, this rant could go on for years! im sure we all have a million stories about this exact thing.
and methanoxide, wtf is with the VW/audi guys doing that swerve thing? its completely dangerous and rediculous. it seems to be just that crowd that will do it, but their cars handle like crap anyways, the VWs are FWD understeering overweight pigs. the audis handle the same, they just dont get stuck in the winter. lol.
I'll be honest though, i've done the little swerve thing, but i was leading a convoy of rx8s to shannonville for some lapping. we were in heavy traffic, going like 30km/h and i was so bored and so excited to get to the track. i started to swerve a bit just to keep myself entertained (i was quite a ways back from the person infront of me. next thing i know, all the rx8s are doing it. lol. still, it was at low speed, i wasnt trying to show off to anyone, and my car actually handles so i feel like i was warranted in doing it. at least more so than the VW crowd.
years ago, when i drove a suzuki swift, i was a jerk driver. i actually remember the day when i realized that i was a *****. i was stopped at some lights in the left lane on hwy 6 going out of guelph. the right lane ends right after the light. the light turns green, i go through the intersection and im almost past the end of the right lane and some lilttle kia comes out of nowhere and cuts me off. he's doing like 100 at least when he pulls this stunt. coming from a 50 into a 70 zone....for some reason this pissed me right off. i flew up behind him (which took some doing....it was a suzuki, lol) and rode his ***. like 1 foot away. we are both going 100 and im freaking out for some reason. i realized what i was doing after a few seconds. pulled over. chilled out for a second.
and from then on, i do my very best to not be a dick. i let people in when they want to get over. i leave alot of room between the car infront of me. i downshift/brake early. I never cut people off in the right lane when its ending. making the world a better place, one less traffic violation at a time.

you've never witnessed this? i've only ever seen VWs and Audi tuner types do it. they are like right behind you and do sharp little aggressive swerves. i was in a friends car once when he did it audi a4 1.8t all suped up. he like violently cranked the wheel left to right and back again a few times. he was right behind the car infront of him traveling at highway speed. if the person infront even slowed down a bit and he had to touch his brakes during something like that...it would be a disaster. it was terrifying. Usually i dont get worried when someone is driving aggressively, quickly, whatever. drifting around shannonville in the rain with coneman in his mustang was almost relaxing to me. being in the back seat of Als speed6 going around mosport, tires squealing and all. awesome! but this...this was soemthing else. theres no ryhme or reason for it, and the only thing that it can accomplish is total loss of control.
Karma's a bitch i guess ....
The best way to deal with douchebags is to let them pass, then keep following them with your HID headlights bobbing up and down in their rear mirrors. It really pisses them off for some reason. lol.
Lol, sorry dude didn't mean to pick on you everytime a VW hate thread pops up.

+1
no offense man. but thats a terrible idea. you have a jerk driver behind you, and your plan is to put him in charge and then **** him off? the thing about jerk drivers is they arent above brake checking you. if you put them infront, leave lots of room and forget about them.
These idiots are usually not interested in passing safely using the left lane. They like to just sit there and ride your bumpers for block after block. It is safer for *you* to get out of their way and let them go in front. That's how the whole HID in mirror thing came up. Once they get in front of you, they realize your headlights are annoying as hell, so they get all fast & furious and try to get away from you. It's all in their head of course. You were probably talking illegally on your cellpholne the whole time this was happening. lol
its not there fault there born with it
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - No need to curse that bad driver weaving in and out of the lane in front of you -- he cannot help it, U.S. researchers reported on Wednesday.
They found that people with a particular gene variant performed more than 20 percent worse on a driving test than people with a different DNA sequence.
The study may explain why there are so many bad drivers out there -- about 30 percent of Americans have the variant, the team at the University of California Irvine found.
"These people make more errors from the get-go, and they forget more of what they learned after time away," Dr. Steven Cramer, who led the study published in the journal Cerebral Cortex, said in a statement.
Cramer and his team tested 29 people -- 22 without the gene variant and seven who had it -- asking them to drive 15 laps on a simulator and then repeat the task a week later.
To their surprise, they found that those with the mutant gene did worse, consistently.
The gene controls a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which affects memory.
The team was not really looking for insights into driving but chose the driving test because it uses common skills.
"I'd be curious to know the genetics of people who get into car crashes," Cramer said. "I wonder if the accident rate is higher for drivers with the variant."

^ I'm not buying that. It's the same thing along the lines as people saying they're born gay, I don't buy that either. Just is another way for people to pass off responsibility to blame something other than the choice they make. Things in life can influence one to lead to decisions they make, but they're definitely not born to drive idiotically.
