DriveClean...some advise

This 8 is due for emissions this year... can anyone recommend a good place if your car is low? No ramps.

Thanks guys.

You should try calling around. I know a couple places here in my state that cater to cars with lowered suspension. They usually have a few boards laying around to help you get up the ramp.

I went here http://www.expresstest.ca/index.html
You drive in then the rollers come up out of the floor.

The Gov will tell you when your car is due when you get your license sticker renewal notification. Typically it's when your car is 6 model years old then every two years after that.

If its too low, you can do a 2 stage idle test. They will idle the car for a while, then free rev it to 2500 rpm for a while.

Thanks, ill give this place a shot. Is your car low aswell? I have two cars and they are both on EVEN # years. 04 rx8 and 06 Jetta so that means i gotta do 2 cars at the same time (-_-) FML, luckily i dont have to do the jetta this year cause I just bought it 3 months ago and they took care of the estest already.

+1

Many crappy tires have in ground dynos, and if you tell them that you'll bottom out when the dyno drops, they'll probably do a TSI instead. (Though going to crappy tire might be a bad idea in itself... )

Make sure they fully warm up the vehicle before testing.

(Google around to read about the differences between the ASM25/25 test and the TSI test... you'll see why it's easier for the 8 to pass a TSI)

... oh, and make sure they remember to put your engine as a rotary.

Did my first E test in my newly purchased 8 at a canadian tire in aurora, they had inground dynos but i watched for 10 minutes the guy attempting to even turn the wheels with traction/dsc on haha

my car is also pretty low

Sadly, that's also one of the reasons why there's a higher chance of CT doing a TSI instead of an ASM...

"Crap, I don't know how to turn off traction... oh well, I'll do a TSI..."

My car passed with flying colors and its an 06 that I bought in 07 so yours should be fine. I did mine at the dealers.
