Does this sound right ?

Was quoted 1200 for a set of 4 bridgestone blizzak lm-60. Now on tirerack theyre going for 190 bucks per tire. Are tires alot more expensive in Canada ??

Help

Thanks

Tires are a lot cheaper stateside. But once you factor in exchange, shipping, taxes, duty, brokerage fees, and installation, the $1200 won't be all that much more.

having been on both sides of the counter regarding tire sales, the prices that appear on tire rack appear to be very close to cost for alot of tire retailers in canada.

That said, 1200 seems about right for a normal price on blizzaks for 18s here...although you should shop around. last season about this time i saw some killer deals on blizzaks.

alot of the heavy big brand name tire retailers get big bonuses based on volume. so by next month they will be having some very attractive deals to try and get a jump on the season.

i myself almost bought a set of blizzaks last year as they were at a price i could barely pass up...then a girl came around, money was tight and i decided i could risk another winter on half bald ice guards. lol

Start trolling the Canada Buy and Sell forum now for an used set of RX-8 snow tires/rim. Buying new is brutally expensive. As far as TireRack goes, the final invoice price is a couple hundred bucks higher due to shipping ($100) and custom fees. 18" snow tires are a pricey proposition no matter where you shop.

Where are you located?
I know a good shop in Sauga - tires23.com
You can also try tiretrends.com in B.C.
