I am happy with the Canadian Pricing, but, I am not happy with the Canadian interior options. I want black with leather, but it's only available up here with tan trim. I hate tan, on walls, on pants, in cars. Does anyone know if Mazda will allow me to order with interior of my choice?

 

Well, I've been wrong before (lots) but my feeling on this is no. I'll ask my dealer guy though: he's MBTA. (much better than average)

 

MBTA is not much when the average is very low.

My MBTA guy didn't even know that Mazda had made a press release on the 12th. When I called him to see if he could get more about it, his response was "Oh thanks for the heads up, I had no idea Mazda was going to make an announcement"

DOH It baffles me why its mostly idiots that sell cars, and even more mind boggling are those people that believe what these idiots tell them.

My MTBA phoned when the press release came out, and gave me a phototcopy of it when I dropped by.:D I will therefore change my assessment to VVMBTA.

 

I was at the Toronto Auto show today, and have fallen deeper in love with the RX-8. I was speaking to one of the Mazda reps about ordering with custom interior and he said it wasn't out of the question but couldn't confirm anything for me. He's gonna call me and let me know.

I called mazda canada today and I told them that I am very upset that I can only get leather tan with titanium.

He told me that he can not do anything about it.

I might change colours from titanium to blue to get the proper interior.

 

Interesting trade, interior colour for exterior colour.. worth a poll i think....

 

I think I'm gonna go for my exterior colour, which is black, but go for the cloth interior. With only two trim levels available in Canada, I would sacrifice leather interior, traction control, and xenon headlights. I get everything else at the lower trim level. All that is not worth an extra $3k, especially if I have to have taupe anywhere in my car. I'll start up my F.I. fund with that extra $3k.

 

I saw the Taupe colour on the US website and it looks more brown than tan. I ordered it because I didn't want an all black interior and exterior. It's too bad you can't get red leather inserts for a black car. Now that would be SWEET!

WTF is the problem with colours in Mazda cars.

Stupid orange/brown leather with a black car, and a wacked orange on a Mazdaspeed Protege.

Are Japanese people colour blind????

 

Yeah, I wish we could custom order interiors. The choices are so limited. Not that I mind the Velocity Red (it looked great at the Auto Show, especially with the mica chips), but I would've liked to have been able to order the Winning blue with a custom Black/Blue interior. :D

 

from what ive heard at the dealers, its gonna be like 1 percent chance that u can custom order the interiors on the Rx. The first batch is gonna be a what-they-get is what-they-get type of deal.

 

No Black Interior? I spent 2 yrs searching for Black Interior for my FC. I ended up finding mint 91 TII Interior btw.

 

From what I know, You can only get black interior with either Silver, Blue, or Yellow Exterior.
