i was driving to work yesterday, it was a 70km/hr zone. i was going 133km/hr at one point but not all the way. i believe i went fast wen i saw the cones that merges on to one lane. sped up a bit to change lanes and not get stuck.

highway cop got me on radar. thats how i found out my speed.
ticket was $1015. and 14 demerit points. now is that crazy or wat. its my very fist offence since having my license for like almost ten years.

im gonna contest it.

why in gods name would you be doing 60+km/hr over the limit!

If you were in Ontario, they would have taken your car, and your license for a week, and nailed you with a street racing fine of up to $10,000

Sounds like it was a construction zone too, so speed fines doubled... sucks man, but you were going quite fast... and I don't really have sympathy for people going that much over the limit.

Try and contest it, hope it works out for the best and you learned your lesson :P

whenever you get a ticket, take it to court!! If you are guilty, just plead guilty and then they hopefully will lower the points/demerits and fines

 

Im sure everyone has put their foot down to merge when they saw a lane ending, so dont be so hard on him. As for the speed you were going to merge, how far away from the end were you? Cause i dont like people who cut 20 cars cause they dont wanna wait in line (, expecailly on those damn border line ups).

yup yup, im screwed. there were cones alright. and i believe there was no early warning for it. i just sped up (i believe) cause it suddenly went from 4 lanes to one so steep. i was in ville marie after decarie. this guy just didnt like the fact that im young with an rx8. the car just looks so sporty. wtv yo. i thnk the dude went over too much with the penalty.

 

You are correct. This is crazy. But then, so are you for speeding so much. Just be thankful that you are not in Ontario.
