Damn, that sucks. I hope insurance finds a decent repair shop.
Or make them go to a decent repair shop.
New bumper, new trunk, possibly something happening under the bumper skin.
I hope it gets fixed up alright.

Hey Guys,
Yup i am ok, I was stopped dead behind another car in the left turn lane. Dumbass came up and hit slow then kept pushing, i laid on the horn to get the car out of my way in front of me so it wouldn't be messier than it already was.
He stopped and then did it again... i blew through the red to get away from him and had to flag him down after his turn. he didn't even realize he had hit me!
Both rear quarters are bent, the trunk lid and the bumper are messed. I drove it home from the scene and it felt dodgy so they towed me to the reporting center and then to the body shop.
Work is being done by Keiswetter Mazda's body shop in Kitchener, they are authorized by my insurance company and i have seen the work they do (it is flawless).
I am sure that my rims got damaged *wink wink, nudge nudge* and my front bumper must have been damaged somehow too...need a MS kit now lol... think that they will buy it?

Frig, that's brutal. At least you're okay !!! It's always a worry of mine being in the left turn lane like you were, that some bozo is going to plow into me and there won't be much I can do about it !!
well you can likely get something out of it... when i was rear ended i got the MS exhaust out of the deal. OEM catback was ~500 and MS was ~575. I had the shop order the MS, and USAA never as much as questioned it being that it came from Mazda dealer and priceing was so close

Just a head's up, I got back from the dealership yesterday, and all the Mazdaspeed Parts went up in price. The front bumper is now $2500 before tax. However, I'm not sure about the performance parts, but the non-performance parts went up in price though.
Also the rear Mazdaspeed bumper requires the use of your existing bumper. You cut the rear portion of the OEM, and mount the diffuser to it. That's gone up in price too, used to be around 800, now near $1500, for pretty much half a bumper.
I'm telling you SUV and trucks really don't see us. Buy a loud exhaust so at least they hear us if their not on there cell phones. In Markham I almost get wacked at least once a week. My sympathy go out to you.

There is a reason why Volvo is rolling out that anti-fender bender collision system. The world is full of lazy, sh-tty people who think driving a two tonnes car is a joke. The scary part is most of these people will soon hit retirement age, become senile and refuse to give up their driver's licenses. Get ready for carnage.

I tried for a MS rear set up, but the Dealership said it wouldn't fly because of the price changes.
He is getting me OEM everything at least. The Exhaust was not damaged at all (the bottom of his bumper was well above the tips)
Estimate is $6000 for the repairs...yikes
