Car Goes Clunk and then is Unstable in the Corners

So I took my backup car to Mosport this Monday since when I installed my CDI ignition, I must have messed something up and couldn't get the RX-7 started. Anyway, was starting to push the car a bit in the afternoon and then around 2:30 I heard a loud clunk coming out of corner 5 and then (luckily) the checkered came up. Next session when I went out, I immediately noticed the car was very unstable in left hand turns and a little bit in right hand turns. The rear of the car just wobbles like a boat whenever I put load in the corners. I looked underneath the car and didn't see anything broken and the wheels didn't have any play in them either. Judging by what the car is doing I think its something with the sway bar that broke but would have to lift the car to find the problem. Anyone have this happen to them before?

On another note, the fastest time I was able to manage was a 1:46.65 before the problem happened with the stock rx-8 and 5 year old tires ^_^

Sounds like rear endlinks to me. That would be the first thing I would check anyway.
I've had them break on other cars before (the ones on my 8 have been fine) and it behaved pretty much as you described.

+1 for endlinks.

The endlinks I am using (Whiteline) have open ball ends and require lubrication every so often or they start clunking. Sounds like yours are loose as well though from the wobbling...

Just giving an update. It was the front right endlink. Not the rear afterall
