Yes as a matter of fact it is in Montreal, as for lovely ladies, well 90% of women in Montreal are beautiful so you're bound to find one with a love for the 8. :D

Thanks for the pic! Are you going to the GP this year Bullit?

There just something about the howl of a 3.0L V10 revving at 19000 RPM. :D

Too damn cool.

I searched and found this old thread, so it's time to revive it.

I'm throwing together a last minute trip to Montreal for the GP. I've never been, and I'm a big F1 fan. Montreal is actually a shorter drive from Washington DC than Indianapolis, so thats a plus. Not too mention the city is supposed to be one of the best on the F1 circuit. Gas + tolls should be $400us, another 250-450 for decent 3 day passes and another 400-500 for spreadin' around money. Finding a place to stay is proving problematic tho...

Is there an 8 gathering? I would love to get some shots with some CDM models.

You'll never find a hotel room in downtown Montreal this late. The grandstand tickets are probably all gone unless you want to pay scalper prices. Forget general admission, you cannot actually see the track with General Admission tickets.

I'm in on an Ebay auction for some grandstand seats at the chicane on the backstraight at the moment. How inflated are scalper prices, generally?

Like I said, just finding a place to stay for two nites looks like the impossible part.

I have no idea what the scalper prices used to be, but I guess you will find out cause that's exactly what you're dealing with on E-Bay. Just remember, you will see absolutely nothing with General Admission tickets. So keep that in mind.

I guess you'll just have to sleep in the car or something.

I would have loved to have gone this year... but I have a trip planned for later in the year. Financial obligations are tight, so the race had to give way.

The year I did go, I had to reserve tickets and a hotel a year in advance.
You'll be paying some outrageous prices if you go this late in the game. You'll be able to find tickets and a place to stay, just don't expect it to be cheap.
