Canadian dollar at par!
Canadian dollar at par!

Maybe now us Canadians won't continue to get ripped off, though any actual consumer benefit may still take a while. Just came back from two weeks in the States and EVERYTHING is sofa-king cheap! A bike I have my eye on lists for 18,900 here, and I saw it for $11,800 over there. A $60 CND. fill up here costs me $38 USD down there!!
Anyone gonna take advantage now?
Brand new C6 - $40000
Used C6 Z05 - $60000
E60 M5 - $85000
2004 Boxster S - $30000
2006 Cayman S - $48000
2004 911 - $50000
If I'm not so damn cheap I'd be thinking hard about some pimp ride right around now.

No, he's talking about the (at least seemingly) unjustified price difference between the american price and canadian price of many products. ie. Greeting cards. $3.99USD, $4.99CDN. Are all those game systems still $100 in CDN? I think they are.
I don't mind taxes. Taxes are what fuel social services.

I spoke to a friend who used to to work for Toyota Canada and asked him about the price discrepancy. He basically told me that unfortunately, as long as we accept the prices set, we're not going to see that much price change. Unless the sales drastically drop, there's no real market pressure to drop prices. I guess that goes for all goods (ie. books, clothing, etc)
Please don't tell me I'm actually reading this. The difference in price is a shipping thing and not an exchange thing. It simply costs more for your goods because Canada is a smaller market which results in less quantity bought and more $$$ to ship there.

BTW.....I live in both countries and will be the first to tell you that this higher canadian dollar is a huge negative for the Canadian economy because they rely heavily on their exporting income.
