While camping sounds like fun, I'd rather get a good night's sleep and feel rested (and showered) for the next day.

This is likely a stupid questions but are there are decent places to hang out in Belleville on a Saturday?

There's some sort of dinner with the package, and there a decent pub in every town for a brew or two. So it looks like three of us are in, I'll sign-up tomorrow evening already a member I believe.

I wish you did not mention the shower part, oh well there is always a water hose beside the skid pad. I am probably going to camp.

Hope more people sign up.

Re: [Questions about Driving School] Upcoming ADS at Shannonville June 26th and 27th

Boys, We have too get on it!

I have room for all three of you, assuming you sign up before Tuesday, which is a cut-off for us.

I recommend you drive your car on the rubber side vs the shiny side - the traction is better and the instructor we will assign to you for the weekend will like you a whole lot better! (reference to my sig which is the same in my email)

Stu

PS - this will be better for learning than Calabogie, 2 reasons, 1) shorter track with more turns, more learning in more compressed time, 2) two days in a row is amazing since you have "breakthroughs" on the second day once you're relaxed and experienced.

Paid This Morning, hope you guys get In before the Tuesday Deadline.

Still waiting for Stuart to get back to me to let me know how to pay... if anyone of you has a phone number for him or can let him know to contact me that'd be great.

I signed up, did not book the sleeping accommodations yet my just camp on site for free.

There are still a few spots left.

They will be running three groups: advanced, intermediate and beginner so there is room for all drivers. You don't need r-comps or any other mods to learn. Just make sure you have 'enough' brake pad material and fresh brake fluid.

In addition to the track time, they will be running slalom exercises, a wet skid pad as well as class room instruction. We have 3 rx8s right now from this club, let hope a few more sign up.

Contact Stuart Sherman, at stuart.sherman [at] trilllium-bmwclub.ca.

I booked a room at HoJo's in Trenton $78 all in, sounds like a bit of a dive. But it just a place to get a few zzz's. Got it thru Hotwire.

Sounds good, we can meet up somewhere on the 401 that morning. Just give me a time and place, I'm north of TO in Newmarket.

Just in case you guys didn't notice, make sure you bring your completed tech inspection form:

Do I have to take this to my dealer to get signed off, sure looks that way!
No big deal I'll get an oil change tomorrow.

Don't know about taking it to a dealer. I usually get teched by independent shops. With a dealer you may get the right reaction and you don't know if it can effect your warranty in the future.

Generally what you will be attending is a driving school, not a lapping event or race event so it should not effect your warranty but it is probably better not to get into a discussion with the dealer.

Having said all that, guess who is doing my tech tomorrow? (but only because work does not give me enough time to take it elsewhere).

It doesn't have to be a dealer, just a licensed mechanic.

I'm going for an alignment on Friday so it works out.

Turn out I need new brake pad down to 3 mm or 25% not the 50% required, I'll keep them for a spare set. Never fails I say she (The 8) not getting no more cash this season and bam! she's into my wallet again.

Weather not looking great for the track, but they will not have to water the skip pad.

Hope you guys had fun on Sunday. I think the school offered a decent value for money and the rain made things allot more interesting.

Hopefully we will see some people at Mosport, September 10-12th.

Good time over all, even if the weather sucked, which make it way more interesting. The rain on the way home was just insane!
