Dear BCRX8,

We have 5 logo candidates in total. Please look at them all very carefully and know that this choice will be a long lasting symbol of our club. You are welcome to make comments in addition to selecting a candidate.

That was a tough call! man.... 2.3c is a very strong logo... I voted for one because I felt it was more "tight" overall, and the red leaf will be instantly recognizable from a distance.

Honestly... I wish I didn't have to vote on all that work, I love all your logo ideas!!

Also, please keep in mind that the black stroke of the rotor shape may very well change color based on live tests. I'm almost certain we will (later) try versions with a metallic vinyl silver for the rotor shape, and as Dan mentioned, we will probably try white as well.

I'm confident that what ever candidate is ultimately selected, we can all be rest assured the bottom line is logo visibility. Which is not a design change, more like a polish in the live testing, to confirm color choices and visibility.

It was very hard for me to vote. I love each and every one of these because the process which took place to get here has taken style cues and suggestions from so many of us. I think as logos go, they are all outstanding and represent us as "the" rotary canadian community! Since they are all good, if you're having trouble choosing, try and think of what you'd want showing on your car.

Problem i have is that I won't be able to see the rotor (black) on my tinted rear window. My son ( graphics artist/used to work for a sign shop) suggested the rotor in white...and the red maple leaf...and the text outlined in white...showing through the black window.

I think the main thing with this vote is that we have narrowed it down to 3 major logo styles. Although they are polished and it's unlikely that we'll make anything other micro adjustments, playing around with colour to problem solve for rear window tinting will definately be considered. Let's choose the logo style we go with for now and then worry about colour applications once we've decided.

Also, because this is an international website there will be voting by non bcrx8 members. I think it's cool and in fact welcome that others have taken some interest in this and it'll be interesting to see what other folks think. However when we tally up the votes for making a decision, we will only be counting bcrx8 member votes for the final selection.

I don't live in British Columbia,,
but I'm liking the second one 5D3_V2.lb and last one 5D3_V2.3c.
I think I am liking the Black border around the "BC RX-8". Makes it look more meaningful, bold, assertive , dominant.
Just an opinion from an outsider.

The poll closes August 18? That's a LONG time to wait... Me impatient... (as some of you know from the Feed Group Buy thread. =P)

Or are we just gonna make the decision after most of the people in BC RX-8 have voted?

Thanks for your interest and opinion. It appears that we share your taste.

I've already sent out a few emails to people on our club list telling them to vote. So I'll give them the next few days before I start making reminder phone calls to them. Otherwise the magic number is 10, but I want to give everyone a chance to vote first. In the event of a tie I have a plan that will seem fair, but let's hope we simply have a definitive winner. So in the mean time have patience Eldon.

I'm asuming that nobody would really be disappointed with any of these great choices.

Wow, this is a pretty close race and member participation is very high. I've already contacted the last 2 members who haven't voted. So we'll make the end of tomorrow the last day and hopefully we'll have a majority winner.

Nope Andrew we were waiting for 2 others who now have their votes in.
All bcrx8 members have now voted except for Alfred(who is in HK for the summer and no longer has an rx-8 anyways) So I would have to say that all 15 eligible votes/posts are now in! Yay!

The vote was too close to produce a dominant winner but it appears that counting the last vote by Ray(super rx) which was posted rather than vote counted, the edge has gone to V2.3C
At tomorrow's lunch meet I will make a suggestion that will hopefully satisfy most. and get feedback/consulting from other members before making the final decision.

btw, if there are any other local rx-8 people here in the lower mainland or anywhere else in BC that is interested in joining the bcrx8 club, please PM me.
