Does anyone know if you can buy the OEM appearance package from any dealership, and if so, how much it costs?
I've only had my 8 for a month and I'm already feeling the need to start adding to it...

You can but it may be an expensive way to go.
Have a look at some of our forum vendors such as RX8strakes.com or mazdaparts.com or axialflow.com
You can install some parts yourself or call an install meet!

 

I bought mine from the dealers when I ordered my car and I saved on the installation charges...Try to see if you can make a deal with them...

 

any suggestions as to what would be a more cost effective way to go?

I have seen a few parts off ebay go for great prices... I sold my rear flares for $60 on e-bay. They were in mint shape. You can buy it all in pieces have them all painted at the same time and while you've got stuff getting painted why not paint a few interior bits of the car to color match maybe even your audio system install...

Buying these parts new costs a lot.

That 550 would only be for the front, I assume. Right? The best place to go is a Mazda dealer in the US, or order from one of the US dealers here as vendors. Each component from a US Mazda dealer costs about half as it would from a Canadian dealer, and that's without any special discounts.

And to answer your other question, yes they come painted.
