Airbag recall notice

Got my recall notice yesterday. Called the dealer today to arrange for the work to be done. I was told that the parts required are on backorder for a month due to Mazda parts warehouse moving from Pickering to Mississauga.

Anyone else got this problem?

I also asked about the "M" flash. They phoned Mazda Canada for me. Mazda Canada repsonse was that this reflash was USA only at this time.

What are your experiences with the dealer on these issues?

Taffy: I need a new Catalytic Converter, and I have been waiting three weeks -- same reason .. Backorder.. ETA is supposed to be tomorrow. We will see... Interesting about the Flash, I was going to ask the same question.

I just finished making an appointment for April 20 for indicating I wanted both recalls , ECU M Flash, 4 month sheduled maintenance. .... I think I will call them tomorrow & verify that they can/will do them all.

Sorry to go off thread. At this point, ever consider getting a high flow cat and resonator from canzoomer since your old cat is already damaged. From what I hear it will be cheaper and provide better performance than the factory cat and it meets stringent California requirements (I don't know the rules in Canada).

I got my recall notice on Tuesday, and was going to call around to see which dealers had these parts in stock. Taffy, which dealer did you call? as I was going to call Downtown Mazda this week (Lakeshore/Parliament).

Got my airbag recall letter Tuesday, and immediately booked an appointment for oil change, both recalls, and M re-flash for today. I just got a call from the dealer - turns out they didn't have the parts for the transmission damper recall, but the airbag recall was no problem!

When I dropped off the car this morning, I mentioned the re-flash, and they said they'd check if it needed it - I said that it doesn't matter, the new TSB says to do it to all 8s on any older version, and handed them the TSB with the paragraph highlighted. They told me they've done it, but I will try to find out what version. I'd be happy enough with L, by all accounts.

Regards,
Gordon

When I got home from the dealership the other day after having the air-bag recall done, the letter was in my mailbox.

As for the heat-shield, despite the fact that I booked the appointment specifically asking that work be done, they didn't have the part in stock (and didn't mention it until after they gave me my car back.)
