I like how they got on the whole global warming craze and used that as another excuse to get rid of the front plate

No thanks, there are too many idiots and hit-and-runners on the road. It's better to have two license plates than one.

Yes they would, if you run into a building, the cameras can't get the plate then as an example.

Thank god in Alberta we don't have a front plate. Not to rub it in or anything. I wonder if I would get a ticket in any other province or the states?

Hahaha this dude pulled up to my driveway the other day and gave me a flyer printed on a piece of paper saying to sign up and this and that to support him to build a racetrack.... Quite honestly, I think it's just a bunch of street racers that wanna gather together and do this protest thing to the government!!

People like that put majority of us in danger. We put on nice wheels, have an intake and exhaust just so we can enjoy our $40K + cars better. And we get pulled over getting called street racers!!!

Those dummies drive around with Civics Integras that hardly worth any money nowadays with a few stickers thinking they are racecars and now they wanna have people sign up to support them??? FORGET THAT!!

I dont care to have a front plate on the car, and when I'm on the track or at a show I'll take the front plate off, no big deal. But let's not support these street racers guys!!

Again, that's just my opinion.

If your police are using something like THIS they will never get rid of the two plate requirement.

Why wouldn't you want to sign that? He wants to build a racetrack presumably because he doesn't want to race on the streets.

Yeah I've seen them myself, but for any doubters out there:

http://www.accessandprivacy.gov.on.c...n/mc030023.htm

and even more recent:
http://torontoist.com/2007/06/toronto_police_1.php

"The program began last month and the TPS has also been testing roof-mounted infrared cameras for parking enforcement, which will automatically record the license plates of parking offenders, vastly reducing the time spent ticketing each vehicle."

So I honestly don't think there is anyway we'll get to have just a single license plate, as this system works more effectively with front and back plates.

Umm if you run into a building, there's a good chance you'll be caught with or without the front plates...
Your badly damaged front end will probably give you away

There are already PROFESSIONAL Race Tracks around the city, if the street racers REALLY do wanna take it onto the track, they would've done that already.

I just thought that supporting street racers for them to build an additional racetrack is really unnecessary. Kids think they can drive better than everyone else on earth, that's why they disregard the traffic laws and other people's lives.

They wanna drive fast, there are tracks like Shannonville and Cayuga where they can keep the cost down and have fun. Or there is Mosport for them to really know what racing is... that's just an excuse how they wanna take it off the street and blah blah blah...

Agree Signed

Not to mention the wasted time, by Police officers and court personnel processing " no front plate tickets ". I know, had to appear in court for plate ticket along with 8 to nine others. All were dismissed by Judge = waste of everyones time.
Well , maybe not the overtime by Officer.
