787B and Renown RX-8 1:18 scale models from Autoart!!!!

Since most RX-8 owners don't know what the 787B is, I doubt they'll have any interest in that model...
But I know you guys would go crazy for this model... The Renown RX-8! Limited to 3000pcs world wide...

It will be release roughly the same time as the 787B model becomes available...

Both of these models are 1:18th scale... And the detail is high!!

Autoart makes fantastic diecasts, i've got the Mitsubishi Evo 8 GSR and a Brilliant Black 8 with black/red leather interior. I hope to get the 787b, just because it's a fantastic car. I'd hope that people who are rotary fans know about it, or else they need to read up on it.

When is the release date??

You have an original 787B R/C car?!?! Do you have any idea how rare those are?!
I would love to get my hands on one of those...

The release date is unofficial... They say the 787B and the Renown were suppose to debut in the begining of June... Here we are, without the models.. lol

Realistically, I think they'll come out either late July or early August...

I took a look around in the lounge and apparently they'll make a limited number of X-men RX-8's as well...

That'll just add to my collection!

Those kits are nice.
I was thinking on getting one, but my collection in my cabinet is getting pretty tight. I'll need more space to put the stuff.

I know it sounds really silly, but I would still love to get hotwheels sized toy of the 8 so I can have it on my office desk--and not too worried about it being stolen or anything. If anyone knows of one PM me. :D

R/C as in Remote Control? no, I have the plastic model kit 1/24 scale, also an FD R1 and spent a long time looking for the 79 green savanna but could never find it. I used to build many plastic models but no time now, I buy them for those retirement days when I'l lhave nothing to do. Except drive my rotary vehicles.

A little off topic but.....I have about 40 1:18 scale F1 diecasts - early 90's up to about 2000. All have original boxes and most are sitting in a closet (I have two kids under 4 years old so I doubt they'd last long on display) Some rare stuff too...if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands send me a PM.

Has anyone received theirs yet? I should get mine next Tuesday.

When you get your cars, do you take them out of the box for display or do you leave them unopened? What does it take away from the value if you remove them?

I hear that it does, but I figure I would never sell it so it wouldn't matter. The only reason I would keep it in the box is so the dust doesn't get into the all the small details, hard to clean. I'd put mine in one of those plexiglass displays, but they are pretty pricey.

I don't think I will worry about value. I'm going for the hands on approach. If you can't touch it and put it on your desk at work, what good is it. If I collected them for resale, maybe I'd think differently about it. I have a #8 Audi LeMans 2000 and I have to pick it up occasionally and study the details.

Neo, nice collection! I'm just getting started. I have only 2 plus the 787B on the way and after researching it I realized this could be a VERY expensive hobby.

What is the serial number on yours? It's a bit fuzzy in the pic.

I have a yellow RX-8 w/ Mazdaspeed body kit RC, its those tamiya 1/10 electric RC cars with a yellow RX-8 cover on it, they go pretty fast, not as fast as gas powered ones, but you dont need to buy gas to run it and also not as dirty. Haha and i think an electric motor sounds like the real 8 more, now if i can finda 787B cover....
