Dam what can I do for my 04, 4 speed AT?

yeah... this is pretty old news. It's also a 6 port.

 

Get an MT and the difference will be far greater than the one between 4AT and 6AT. Honestly an extra 15HP and two more gears will help a little but an AT is still an AT and the difference will hardly be that noticeable.

You have some good appearance packages on your AT. Enjoy it.

Having a 4AT myself sometimes makes me tempted to sell it or trade in for the newer one, but at the end of the day taking a hit on depreciation among others things just to get a slight improvement makes little sense. When my warranty is up, I will just turbo the sucker and then enjoy it for another couple of years.

Now if Mazda can come up with a 240HP 6 port Auto, then I wouldn't hesitate to make that decision!

Btw, you want to add the turbo, I heard only the RE has it. It turns out to be 240 hp but not sure is it on whp or just hp.

I bet the pricing will be dropped a lot since I have around approx 2 years when my warranty is out, there are couple of options for me.

$3000 around to upgrade faster.

1. add Re Turbo, after 2 yrs I bet the priced will be dropped a lot. But dam on an automatic 8?

2. trade in for new Rx7 (rumor still going and I am believing), have to finance it again :<

3. trade in for used 350 z (I have sit in my co-workers car is very heavy)

4. buy an engagment ring is almost time to get marry

5. change manual tansmission

I always wanted to keep this 8 for my future wife. So I can get myself a new rx7 or 350 z

Well being single at the moment gives me an opportunity to splurge a little but I guess like everything else, if I meet up with a rich socialite, I get to have it both ways

Not sure about the RX-7- since I have the 8 already, I might as well just enjoy the darn thing (paid enough for it) and make some more mods to it. My cousin owns a pretty good car tuning/repair shop (Pecaso Auto)and so I might seek his advice.
The way I've been driving it, everyone thinks its an MT. Since most people own an MT, having an AT makes us rather unique. Of course the power and fun factor isn't quite the same but it just intrigues me to how I can realize the ATs potential. I think there is a lot out there for the auto- don't mind using my car as a guinea pig if I can find some formula that is going to maximize this car's performance. I always love being the underdog- finding a compromise for all AT owners out there will at least help alleviate some of the criticism towards not playing with a manual transmission. Besides, being a 5th Black Belt and former combat instructor for the forces helps if anyone tries to DIS my choice of a car.
