I'm in the same boat. My coilovers have been sent in to get rebuilt, I have the rims that I want picked out and almost payed for, going for carbotech pads and slotted rotors. I'm getting geekd.

your almost ready for the track.i cannot decide on a rim offset, don't want to go stock but do not want to go flush or stretch and poke.

i know **** about offsets,so 32 offset will keep you within the body and the 15mm spacers will bring you flush?

If you guys are looking for an extra set of rims for the track, put an ad in the general for sale section, a good deal is bound to come up with autocrossers, hpde drivers and race teams offloading their wheels. I went with 17x9 +45 at RPF1 that I got from http://www.autornd.com/ (Forum Sponsor). Contact Rishie at: autornd@gmail.com he has the best deals on Enkei wheels.

17" tires are much cheaper than 18".

If you are looking for some cheap r comps, contact some of the Conti / Koni & WC and CTCC teams (switched from r888s to a new tire for the 2011 season). I know that Compass360 - has Hoosier / Conti available.

CASC For Sale Forum, is also a good place to get r comps.

Happy tracking

something like that. lol.
Mr. Bangle knows what's up . Good info/links
I'd like to get a separate set of track rims/tires but it's just not feasible this season.

Mr. Bangle used this offset calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

to figure out offset.

P.S

Crazy seats in the Windsor thread - are you building a show car?

No those are the seats of my dreams since I've had an FD. I wish. Those are "thewird"s from T. He's selling, but I'd rather justify buying Advans/shoes and getting my JIC coilovers rebuilt to the wife, because my old rims are going on "her" Santafe. If I had a couple extra grand in the couch I'd get them. They are so f'n nice.

Are you planning on getting corner balanced after the install? If so, where? Best place I can find is Can-Alignment but it's so ******* far. Out in Millgrove. $325 for a corner balance and four wheel alignment.

Sponsored by AiM Sports!!!

Hello Everyone!

SRTA is very excited to announce that we are now officially sponsored by AiM Sports! This means we will roll out with so many lap timers that we will have enough for everybody!!

Last year, we were haunted by having only a limited number of lap timers. As all past participants know, we had to remove and reinstall lap timers all day as each racer exits and re-enters the track. Thanks to AiM Sports, SRTA 2011 will have a better and improved timing system:

1. Every racer will each receive a lap timer to keep for the entire day! This means no more removing/remounting of lap timers. Your receiver will be placed at a location that works for your particular vehicle, and will stay there for the entire day. Your lap times will be measured consistently without ever skipping a lap!

2. SRTA will introduce a completely new timing system, utilizing barcode scanners and improved programming. No more delays at our control booth!

3. More efficient and streamlined process to allow faster live leaderboard displays, and more monitors! :D

Check out our new website and video here!

So far, we have a pretty good number of pre-registrants with rotary content on May 22:

1. rx8-druggist - White RX-8
2. XXX (handle unknown) - Grey RX-8
3. Mochi - Grey RX-8
4. IAN - White S5 Turbo FC
5. Oregano - White S5 NA FC
6. 13BbackFire - Black NA FC
7. MIBAgentQ - Red FD
8. rxgooch - Blue FB
9. Howi - Grey FD

I know there will be a few more rotary guys joining us on May 22, but haven't made the time to pre-register yet. So many RX's!!! Really can't wait!!

Might want to start up another thread with the confirmation list... we went a little sideways with the conversation in here.

In any case, I think I almost have my clutch/transmission issues sorted out so I'll be registering after I install the new SS lines and test things out. Air in the clutch line is never fun.

Surprisingly not as much as I thought I would use... I topped up gas around Brooklin and by the end of the day I had just about a quarter tank left to get back home.

Thanks for the suggestion Rev. It's not a big deal, I think it's cool to have a lot of interaction in a thread. I also don't want to clutter the forum by starting new threads.

The clutch line should be a quick install. I agree, having a fail proof clutch system is such a luxury on the track.

Heh... not just for the track. I had some air in my lines a couple of weeks ago and it freaked the hell out of me. Couldn't shift between gears.... I tell ya... I'm now an expert when it comes to clutchless shifting. Now I'm just getting some notchiness when shifting past 8k.

Either way.. lines will be installed this coming weekend. Was suppose to install them this past one.. but 20 rusted bits of scrap had other ideas (some of which needed a chisel to be removed (thanks Scottish)). On the plus side I can tell you that Progress sways seem to kick ***.

ohhhhh.... so you're finally coming around to the light weight rims are you?

Don't you know? Light weight rims will eeeeeeeeasily save me a second on DDT!

Hopefully they'll make up a bit of lap time lost from poor driving lol.... If I was an unsprung weight, I'd go on a vegan diet.

Fine. It'll make me feel faster. There. You happy now?
