I'm pretty sure it's standard on ALL Canadian RX-8's.

"The RX-8 comes in two trim levels: GS and GT. They both get standard 18" alloys with 225/45 series tires, big four-wheel discs with anti-lock, sport tuned suspension, Bose sound system with six-disc CD changer, electric power steering, dual exhaust and a full range of power utilities to complete the package."

Here is a review of the PZ UK Prodrive Edition. From LiTTleRX-8 reply I gather that this is the same suspension the 40th anniversary edition got and now the R3.

I for one cant wait to drive one with the 4.77 diff! That should really wake the car up. Years ago i put 3.55 gears in my Mustang from the stock 3.08 ratio. It made almost a full second difference in the 1/4 mile time.

So it's not just $642 + labor to change a regular RX-8 to use the 4.77 final gear right?

On the gear ratios, let's keep in mind that the transmission has also changed, and the new gear ratios offset the new diff ratio a lot. There is still a benefit, but it is not as much as you would think if you compare the diff only. Now, if you were to put a 4.77 diff into a 2004-2008 RX-8, you would have a significantly different overall ratio. The downside is you would be above 4k RPM in typical highway cruising in 6th.
I wonder if you can just bolt the new ring gear to the existing diff assembly. If so, the price really would be $642 + labour (lots of labour though...)
Correct. I can confirm that my 2005 GS came with Bose. One of the differences between US and CDN cars is that ALL CDN cars have Bose, whereas it is limited to certain packages on US spec cars.

I drove an R3 yesterday
"just that with the 4.77, I can't imagine what it's like to be cruising in 6th gear at 120km/h on the highway at like 5000 rpm"
I took a 2009 R3 out for a spin yesterday. One of the things I did was check what the RPMs were at highway speed. In 6th gear, at 100 KPH, the engine was doing about 3200 RPM.

I have listed the Canadian MSRP price. If anyone wants to buy the parts we will give then a deal. I do not know if they are a straight bolt in or if the there is a difference in the housings from 2004 to 2009. All I know is I hope I can get a complete housing with the gears and find a way to mount it in my race car! (lol)

Do you have part numbers available for the 2009 housing and diff? If they are the same numbers as 2004-2008, then the new ring and pinion should be compatible.
