2006 clearance prices?

How much are '06 models going for these days? Specifically GTs and Shinkas...

I was browsing around on autotrader.com and there are brand new '06 Shinka editions asking for ~$25000 USD, $8000 off MSRP. If I were to bring one over, even at that price, that would come out to just over $30500 CDN, including the 6.1% import duty... (before taxes) which sounds pretty good for a brand new loaded 8!

Are Mazda dealerships in Canada clearing out old inventory like this as well?

In Toronto it's about $6000 of msrp. Still plenty from which to choose.

the best I've seen cash price was $32995 for an 06 GT. So 30500 is good. It's $2400 cheaper. Is 2400 worth the time, gas, paper work effort etc? Most importantly, does Mazda Canada honours waranty with rx-8 bought from US?

Something to consider is that Mazda canada is giving $3500 worth of Mazdaspeed stuff too which I don't think Mazda US is.

I wonder how much they are taking off MSRP for the 2007s... anyone know? I bet they aren't selling many of those either.

prolly on an order basis. I did test drove an 07 dark blue one the other day. Felt no difference with previous year's models. The keyless is interesting. But you still have to turn that "key-stubby" thing to start the car. I was expecting a Start Button.

I upgraded to a 06 and I really like the new entry system. It's worth it for me.

Does the free stuff apply to the 06s too though?

I thought I read in this forum that somebody called Mazda Canada and they said the warranty would be honoured. If so.. American RX-8s would actually have a year longer of bumper-to-bumper warranty, and the same 5 year powertrain.
