2 recalls in 2 weeks!

Well last week my baby had the recall done. New plugs, and flash, full tank of gas.
This was Monday. Wednesday she went in for some paintwork on the roof.

I made special mention to the body shop, specifically:

"once this car is started, it MUST be allowed to reach operating temperature before it is turned off. It is very likely the car will flood if you do not heed my advice."

Pretty clear, or so I thought. Friday....car not ready. Monday....car not ready.

Tuesday.....car ready, but "uhh we have a problem sir, your car wont start".

Wednesday free tow to dealer via Mazda roadside assistence.

New plugs again, plus new starter, converter, and new battery, plus the service manager photocopied me the tsb from Mazda Canada. (cold start tsb?)
Same deflood proveedure as told on here: take out plugs, unhook certain wires, crank engine, reinstall plugs. The vacume tube/washer fluid is used if the first step doesnt work, and instead of washer fluid, Mazda says to use 5w20 oil.

So, ya I was pissed at the body shop, but the work was good. It was a "paint melt" type place that paints the damage, not the car.

I really cannot see where it was painted. It was the same body shop that also rustchecked the car.

Any Winnipegers should consider Gerry Gordon Mazda on Pembina. They have been excellent to deal with, and Doug the service manager seems to know alot about all of the vehicles they service. He does not have to ask anyone else.

In future should I deal with the body shop again? Kinda flakey, but at the end of the day the end result is what matters I guess.

The repairs (Mazda) didn't cost me a thing, but had there been a charge I wonder if the body shop would have covered the costs?

It's not like I didn't tell them abouyt the flooding potential. It wqas verbal and not in writing, but you would think people should own up and make good.

In the future I will tape a card on the steering wheel as a warning.

Thanks for letting me vent.
