100,00km engine swap?

ok. so i was at the dealership today getting my 48,000 km service and my recall done. and i rented a car from the "enterprise rent a car" in the plaza that mazda had arranged for me. the guy there was telling me that he had recentley had 4 customers come in and rent cars because their rotary engines were being replaced at 100,000km (at the owners expense) WTF? is there any truth to this rumor? or was the guy just f*cking with my head? i thought it was pretty absurd to tell you the truth. any insite?

I doubt it. the renesis has been quoted as being the longest lasting rotary yet, with a life cycle of 200k miles. would roughly equate to 320 Klicks.

I haven't heard of anyone around here having an engine replaced. But after I had the recall done the car developed a flat spot between 3 and 5k in second through 6 gear have you noticed anything

Yup....

I'm on my 3rd engine
3 sets of brak pads
2 air bag sensors
both seat warmers

and **** load of other stuff and I am at the dealer right now because I am smelling a fuel leak while I drive.

I love this car...but with all this happening Its gone when the lease is up.

turns out the is a gas leak from the "o ring" around one of the injectors.

At least the dealer has been nice and gave me the CX7 to drive again. Me and that CX7 and becoming good friends.

100K kms? Sounds fishy.

Still, I'll need about ten years or so, at this rate, to get the engine replacement problem.
