^Depends on your drop, offset, camber and tire size you get.

Mine is a 18x10 +28. Angel's looks to be somewhere in the low to mid 30's I'm guessing. If it is you may not need a fender roll in the rear, but if you get 255/40 tires you will have to grind off some frame material in the front wheel well to get it to turn without hitting the frame.

Forgestars F14 Gunmetal on Brilliant Black

Hi all,

Finally got my Gunmetal Forgestars from Rishie, and got tires mounted on them this weekend and thought I'd share:

(4) Forgestar F14 Gunmetal 18x10 +42mm Offset on Kumho Ecsta MX 275-35

An interesting tidbit, I weighed my old set of rims (Sportmax Staggard) and the Forgestars, and saved a total of 1-2lbs up front and 4 lbs in the rear.

Forgestar Tire/Rim:

Old Sportmaxx Setup:

Sportmaxx Rear Tire/Rim:
(18x9.5 +35 Falken FK452 275-35)

Sportmaxx Front Tire/Rim:
(18x8.5 +35 Falken FK452 245-40)

Thanks to Rishie for the great deal on the rims, it was worth the wait!

Regards,

Looks great Ev. BTW I responded to your email.

The Falkens are probably not full tread either. Not too mention Kumho MX are heavy *** tires.

In terms of PURE WHEEL weight difference you should see about 3-4lbs per corner no doubt. I've sold several sets of those sportmaxx wheels and know their brick like qualities.

so my forgestars in lbakc mate finally arrived. They are 18x10 et 38+. Now I need to buy a set of decent tires that are reasonably priced while providing good all around performance.
Currently my car has yokohamas 245/40, I was wondering if this would work out while I save more money for a good set of high performance tires. they still have some thread left, I'd say about 40%.
please, make some recommendations.

i had some yokohama a13s on my 18x10 f14s for a while and they worked fine but I was definitely not performance driving. I now have some 245 Falken RT615s and would say the stretch is a little bit less.

Ideally imo you would want to go for some 265/35s but that is a lot of tire for an NA RX8

Right now Im researching wheels at tirerack, taking into consideration weight, over all performance and price. The bridgestone potenza RE760 and hankook v12 are on the top of my list.

I'd go with the v12's in 265/35's for performance.

You can squeeze 275's in there too if you'd like but you'll probably need to shave the tab. (and roll of course)

FYI, if any of the recent purchasers got ball seat wheels forgestar has agreed to pay to and from shipping to have them machined as cone seat.

Please contact me if this is something you want to to do.

I can not find what lugs you can use for these wheels. Anyone know where I can get a set of lugs for under $100 in grey or gunmetal...maybe black?

I should be ordering the Forgestars soon...I hope...

What would look best on a Titanium Rx8 with Gunmetal forgestars...hmmmm.

I have the Muteki in stock if you want those. They are perfect. Ideally a tuner style lugnut such as the muteki is best. Some offsets you can run 19mm sockets, but other offsets require a 17mm socket. Don't ask it just is.

If any of you guys want Muteki just let me know. you'll get it for that price shipped most likely.

Thanks, Rishie

Oh as for gunmetal 5zigen ProRacer lugnuts. Lightweight but expensive. $150 MSRP, still cheaper than Ray's though.

Just get them when you buy wheels so you can the better price on lugnuts.

Infini is using specific lugnuts because Forgestar did not drill his wheels as a cone seat. Please disregard the lugnuts he is using.
