First post here, and was just wondering if any one else on the board in Aus has put a firm order on the RX-8?

I put mine in the in January 2001 - when Wheels did a writeup on the RX-Evolve and said Mazda had committed to building it...

I's been a long wait... I reckon it'll be worth it too!

geez, talk about the early bird. Mazda started taking actual orders on January 13th(!!!) 2003. As I'm only 15 I can't buy one but dad wants to get one real soon. But we might have to import one if he wants a moonroof as much as I do. I saw my first add for the 8 2 days ago in Motor or Wheels, back of the cover too. It won't be long now. See my other posts for the packages, only 4 in total. E-mail me if u have any other queries because I got the pack from Mazda and it has all the information in it. Good Luck.

 

how much is the minimum deposit?

what happens to the deposit if we decide to cancel the order and not buying the8 after the test drive or any other reasons

 

put a clause on your order

"subject to suitability".

This gives you an out if you test it and don't like it.

 

I placed my order with Mazda, Brookevale (Sydney) in mid Jan too.

'Hi Power' : 6spd manual, red with red & black leather

The sales rep told me that a few automatics (??) had been ordered but that mine was the first manual. Expecting arrival in the very first batch sometime in June.

$1000 deposit (subject to test drive) will get your name on the order list.....
