Who got their Exhaust done at Midas in Montmorency (VIC)
Just went up to Midas in Montmorency/Briar Hill to book in my Hymee Exhaust fitting and the guy said that he had done one already.
Anyone want to fess up?

I'd do a search on 'Midas', Andrew. Someone on this forum had a horrific experience about a year ago with a Midas agency completely stuffing the fitting of a Hymee catback. May not have been your guys but I wouldn't be taking any chances. Find out who it was before you deliver your car. Hymee should remember the unfortunate victim if a search doesn't give you the answer.

:-/ Search...forgot about that.
It was West Ryde in Sydney. And turns out it was Gomex who got his done at Monty (Greensborough). He had only good things to say and the guy who fitted it is still there so I am feeling better about it.

20 minutes. I knew the guy who used to run the place. He'd done the brakes on my Falcon, and I was happy with the guys he had working there. I've been there since to have a wheel bearing replaced on the Falcon....they don't charge the moon.

Just one thing though. Last time they heated the bastard coupling up with the gas axe while the muffler assy was still on the car. An easier way would be to remove the muffler and midpipe in one piece and heat the thing up on the floor. Safer, too.

yes, that West Ryde victim is me.. still running as is.. which reminds me I should take it to an exhaust shop sometime..
when I took the car to MRT during swaybar install, I told them to take a look and see if they can rectify it.. they refused to touch it at all because they think the job was too hard and were saying somewhere in the range of $800+ to sort it out !! they were both very disappointing IMHO...

If that was me, I would go to another Midas (one that someone can recommend) and get them to repair the problem. Dont tell them it was another Midas that @$%^ed it in the first place. And also mentioned what Hymee last said (turning the connecting "bit" around).
Once they fix it, get them to document what the problem was (preferably on Midas letterhead) and send that report to both West Ryde and the Head Office.
