Dont ride on bump stops.

 

Completed 800km since the Teins where fitted and the car due in @ Fulcrum Suspension later this week for final alignment. The suspension has settled +/- 20mm lower from standard at both front and rear. Also the "stickiness"of the shocks is dissipating - must be getting run in. They said it would get better after the initial 1000km bedding down period - it really feels good over the more rutted roads around here.
I will post up the final wheel alignment numbers when completed.

Really good - but not perfect. Still early days and I have not had my preferred alignment yet - due in on Thursday.

I guess I was spoiled by my MX5 on which I fitted Ohlins suspension which was really special. Its a quantum thing, you tend to get used to really good equipment and its only when you step away you realise what you have got (or had) I'm not saying that the Teins are inferior to Ohlins, its just a different perspective - bigger, heavier car, slower suspension reaction, blah, blah. The RX-8 is a GT car, not a sports car. But for a $50,000 vehicle there is nothing on the Australian market that comes close for suspension & steering compatibility, comfort and feel.
Just my initial impression after 3,000km, so I'm still a relative newbee.

 

Thanks retro. That's more or less what I've got but I think it wouldn't hurt to have it checked again.
