Can't do either of those. Also, for those geographically challenged. Where is Lake Mountain ?

15th May might be better for me, but I need to check with my social secretary for that date.

Lake Mountain is near Healsville.

I am ok on the 15th, 22nd or 29th. I don't think we have any commitments on those Sundays yet. And it may be a chance for us to leave the baby and a nice cruise and a dinner for 2 that night

Prefer early May coz I really hate the cold. I am seconding for 15th.

Also Picnic or BBQ?? there is a huge BBQ area at the top and a hiking tract.

Healesville is in Victoria
The 15th and 22nd are OK for me so add me to the list for the 15th
I am not too sure how to add myself with the copy function sorry
I am looking forward to it already.
Perhaps to avoid confusion and enrage our non victorian forum members the original title of the thread could be edited to include Melbourne/victorian cruise :o

echo echo echo....

Gary we get your point.

Yes change the title please Hymee.

I have the pdf file for the Lake Mountain
http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources/05_1193.pdf

Look the small insert of where Lake Mountain is.

So read the map carefully if your partner is technically challenge for navigation.... (medium left ... long easy right ... 40 left and then hard right. )

Someone organise BBQ or is it a BYO picnic lunch?

I thought there is an electric BBQ on the top of the mountain!

All we need is a utensils, oil spray, food, drink and plates!

Sunday May 15th

Looks like this is going to happen. Given that Taka and I live at completely opposite sides of Melbourne, what's the plan on meeting and the proposed route there?

Did not know there was an electric BBQ up there. I can bring utencils, some spray, plates and some general food & drink. I would suggest if you have a particular taste for something then bring it along.

I can bring BBQ Snags & rolls, Bacon, Chicken Breast (I love breasts) & steak. If someone else wants to organise salads.

I might take a run up there one morning this weekend to check out the BBQ situation just to make sure we don't get there and have to eat raw meat (although a couple minutes on the exhaust might fix that :D )

Well it says gas BBQ in the park map. I attached the link in my previous post.

Here it is again
http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources/05_1193.pdf

I will do salad. It is seafood salad in Hong Kong style. Is that ok?

I was thinking of meeting somewhere around Nunawading Toyota on Whitehorse Rd (just before it crosses Springvale Rd. From there as a group it is an easy drive to the black spur meaning easy to stick together and not lose someone in traffic!

I am not sure of the road names so will get back to you all on the route once I draw up a little map, which we can hand out at the initial meet point and post in this thread.

Cheers

Does anyone has a CB radio?

I have one at home and can access to several (may be 2-3 of them). I will hunt around this Saturday for a ear piece.

A ear piece like this
http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productVie...=&SUBCATID=763

Can I invite my friends to come too? They are also the people going to Luke's event regularly but not on 1 April.

Oh I forgot to ask my wife finger crossed

My wife has a couple of different types of 2 way radio. Will be easier to borrow if my wife comes along as she uses them for work, so they may not be accessible.

I have one, can get 2 and thinking of getting another one tomorrow with the ear/throat piece. They are less than $50 each (for 0.5W), and they do good job when we are in line. I have two 2W ones that can work for 5km (they cost I think about $150)

They lie when they said 0.5W can work 5km. Realisticly they work for 1km, but in a line of cars - the first one will be able to listen to the last one. Better the one in front and at the back has a strong 2W one.

It is fun to have one in each car, so that:
1) No one will get lost.
2) We can chat on the way.
3) Can sure no on coming traffic when passing slow cars (only need ONE brave soul to pass him and warn others about on coming traffic).
4) Warn about cops. (that could be a negative if police pick up our signals)

Any friends of yours are friends of ours (if of course they drive hot cars :D :D )
Of course they are welcome!

I think I will go out tonight to Jaycar and pick me up one of those UHF Pocket CB Radio's and hands free kits.

I show you next time. I brought it in Hong Kong for HK$700 = AUD$110.

Race standard motor cycle helmet - good enough for Luke's track day.
