Turbo RX8 Sydney - MAZFIX Brisbane

My car has been away for over a week (at a retreat for RX8's in QLD)still with a week or more to go.
It will be coming back to me with a minimum of 200 kw at the rear wheels.
I have driven a version of what I am getting (but not as good ) and thought to myself,..."thank God, I'm wearing 2 pairs of undies!" When I get my car back I will have to wear 3-4 pairs.... because what I drove was bloody fantastic.... I mean it !!! I would compare it to the feeling I got when I was a passenger in a RX7 SP model as it was spinning from 1st into 2nd and 3rd.......

My waiting and hunting is finally over....... MAZFIX are the go !!!!!!!!!

Archie, brock and the gang are gentlemen.
I read somewhere that Mazfix charge like a wounded bull..... Not,..... so I say !!

You pay for what you get!!!
And this is what I'm getting....................
Here we go: Mazfix Turbo stage one , , new heavy duty clutch, new radiator, huge intercooler,(cause I have a Mazda speed nose and have the room) 2 x huge oil coolers, blow off value plumbed back into itself (so no blowoff noise), light weight flywheel and counter weight, a mazfix boost switch located in the centre console for 5 or 10pounds boost, a custom made free flowing catback,....hiflow airbox, turbo timer and wait for it ,............Mazfix are going to do the injectors on the thing.... going for a stage 2 ......as well.

Do I sound excited?

yep im going to the NATs if its on!!

When speaking with Archie he mentioned how he was dissapointed last year for not attending the nats as he was in the states tuning drag cars... or something like that..
When I next speak with him I will push him.....

By the way.... Archie reckons my 8 will be the fastest in the country... when he's done with it....
I may be flying to Brisbane on friday to collect it......I hope!
I haven't been this excited since....I don't know when..

When you pick up your car from Archie you may want to come to the Goldcoast for a short stay and show us your ride

Sounds great!

Would love to know what kind of results you got. Can you give us some ballpark pricing for the upgrades that you have installed?

Edit... Found their website, looks like they have their stuff together http://www.mazfix.com.au/perfproduct..._Turbo_Upgrade

One question for you - who are you going to get to tune and service the thing once you get it back to Sydney?

You see, I tend to agree from what I've read and heard that Archie's kit is the way to go if you want to turbo charge the car but the non-mechanic in me wonders if the ongoing tuning and maintenance would be a problem.

Funnily enough, there is actually a difference between hearing a story and being an author......stop trying to ****-stir.

Not triyng to **** stir just asking a valid question , considering Wilcard was directly involved as test pilot for the supercharger .

I am sure that others who read this post also are curious for an answer , i just happened to be the first one to ask .

Well, Dan can speak for himself I guess but I've noticed him registering interest in other turbo threads in the past. This needn't be a religious subject. Just because you've bought or tested one kind of FI solution there's no reason not to be interested in others.

Who's going to service my car in Sydney????

I actually discussed this with Archie..

I think he is going to find someone for me or look into hooking up with someone decent. He is also arranging for the engineers report and so forth as they cannot do it in QLD.

There is a guy in Willoughby "United" Service station who is a rotary freak !!!! He owns the rx7 SP model I spoke of in a earlier email..

Images of my car so far: Archie emailed me today

how do you upload??

The Pics

Hope you can see the Pics...They are a bit dark..

By the way, I only got one huge oil cooler....not 2 as I previously mentioned. I added one (which is the huge one)

Plus Archie rang today and advised that with the stage one kit turbo he puts bigger injectors in ...But to get more fuel into my 8 and take it that step further he will be adding a extra injector....it will take some time to find the correct position and correctly tune it.......

Still no pipe yet,... maybe I will get to pick it up this week end....
Watch out here I come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not considering a Turbo. I'm just interesting in hearing about the car, since FI is not surprisingly an area that interests me. My comment was more a gesture of moral support. I dip my hat to anyone with the ***** to put there money where there mouth is and travel the FI path. Can't wait to hear how she goes!

Replacing the last 2 injectors that give around 450cc with the 4speed Automatic ones which give 640cc seems to be more than adequate for fuel improvement .

Scott and others have done this ,

Would you mind keeping us posted how that goes? It would assist any future decisions I might make.

Hope you're up and running for the next Sydney meet. Would love a first-hand look at Archie's handiwork.

BTW, did you attend last year's Nats? The car and your nick seems familiar.
