Temperamental RX8

Well, I may be crazy but my RX8 definitely drives faster and smoother certain days and rough and harsh on others.

I warm up the engine before but it makes no difference and my idle is smooth.
It seems some days the engine is louder (i.e revving higher for the same amount of power/torque) - Can someone please explain why this is the case or whether I should get it checked out???

P.S - i had it serviced only a month ago and re-flashed etc etc

Nico,
This has been discussed before by fellow aussies.
I get the same feeling too...
Sometimes blaming it on the fuel, it just don't feel 98 octanish!
But then it can feel extremely sluggish sometimes.
I even think when the cars warming up while driving, the exhaust sounds better.
Just have to get used to the toqueless bottom end...Its a bitch when
your trying to cut petrol costs by driving sanely,
but the thing don't get nowhere from the lights.
Though like most of us say, redline a day keeps the mechanic away!

I AM NO ROTARY EXPERT BUT I BELIEVE THE POWER discrepancy on alternate days in the RX8 possibly lies with the RX8.S Alternator and the Generator some days the CURRENT FLOW SEEMS TO BE INCONSISTENT , causing this problem

Avakiannal had this to say about the Alternator and the generator.

"QUOTE

Alternator makes AC (Alternating Current)
Generator makes DC (Direct Current)

Alternator has a recitifier in it that converts to DC so your car can use it.
Generator doesn't have to do that because its already making DC.

Generator is good at making voltage in a small rpm range.
Alternators have multiple phases, ususally 3 for cars, that each make power best in a certain rpm range so it makes more consistent current throughout the powerband. "quote"

This *MAY* be true except during the full moon cycle, wherein the alternator's flux capacitor is consistently charged and smooths out the current cycles to provide phaseless power.

The voltage is quite inconsistent in the 8 though during idling.

The generator is sub-par according to a few members across the club.

I wonder if something can be done
