Sub Installed

Couple of pic's of the sub & amp I installed today.

A few guys have ordered the sub box, fits bloody well and holds in place well enough with a few strips of velco

Note to self, need to vacuum the boot!!!! It's like a copper hedgehog exploded in there!!!

Nice Mikey.

For a moment I thought there is a small spare wheel in there... The cover looks like spokes on an alloy wheel.

I thought the same for a second Taka.

Was nearly going to ask Mike why he changed his mind and bought such dog ugly rims, lol.

Yeah cover is a little "heavy duty" but with the crap that's usually flying around in my boot thought bigger the better!

I think that's the spare tire mounting kit not a strut bar.

Standard equipment on Aussie-spec cars.

Most of us remove the spare and some remove the bar as well.

Great way to ruin a good walk. I play grudgingly a couple of times a year and only if there is beer! About 9 holes can actually be "fun" after that I'm well over it!!

But yes, is "velcoed" in and comes out pretty easily.

Fibreglass enclosure, about 27L with nice gold connectors. Am using a twin coil 2ohm 200watt Response speaker, cheap but delivers well above it's price range! Has a full metal frame versus some of the plastic rubbish around. Does weigh a ton however.

Powered by a Coustic 400 watt class d amp. Has a nice Carbon fibre finish that doesn't show in the photo. EDIT: and i soldered in a new connecting bundle to the mainboard, couldn't find a connector to fit the original! Hence the big white plug!

Many thanks to the audio guru's on the forum, their wiring diagrams were very helpful.

Boxes can found at www.Karatan.com.au

Nick Tan is a great bloke and helpful.

Best of.

Drew you can get linched posting ebay links, suggest you delete.

Is the blue light in the speaker, amp or your own led stick?

They are on the grill! Bit naff and haven't totally wired in. Can't seem to get them to link into the boot light. And after spending half a day with my head in the boot and half a day shoveling mud, my back had called it a day..... oh and there was beer!
