,i originally was dissapointed tha i could get my yellow leather interior The wow factor that i had missed at the willowbank raceway has been re-kindled when i finally saw my rx8 at the dealer and got to test drive it in the real world.

WHEN I POSTED MY THREAD my rx8 warts & all i must have been in a very critical mood and could not see the roses from the trees. The rx8 is not perfect but i have learnt to not be so judgemental.i have been waiting for the rx8 way to long I was taking out my fustration on the car and was not realistic in my expectations .

Isuppose 3 years OF HEARING AND THE LAST 8 MONTHS OF WAAAAITIIIINNG GOT THE BETTER OF ME .Now that i had seen the lightining yellow in its full splendour it was love at first sight and the drive was shear pleasure and excitement ,road cars should not be tested on racetracks ,as it does not give any real world feed back and for me it gave me the wrong impression .

If the rx8 does not do it for you , then you may have a serious problem IMO the yellow with black leather interior is a ,real class act i was originally really pissed off that i could not get the yellow leather interior ,but all black leather interior is the way to go ,i am more than happy with 90% of the rx8 performance ,interior and overall look and feel ,and you can not wish for more .I was hard on the car ,isuppose you could say i was looking for PERFECTION and i realize that perfection is not realistic in anything let alone a car.IF ANYONE would like to orga nise a drive day i would be pleased to join in LOVE THE RX8 ,FRUSTATED WITH MAZDA LONG WAIT .Now that its over its time to relax and enjoy our rx8s

Talking Excellent

Great to hear your views re the drive of the 8 in real world conditions. I really appreciated your thorough comments re your drive day and it is pleasing to note that a drive in the real world has convinced you to purchase! This certainly ensures that my wait for a real world drive of course is all the more difficult!

Re drive day, would have to drive to QLD to participate which would be difficult, mmmm but did I say drive....and for a long time in the 8.... maybe not so difficult!!

Cool Yellow..........

Yes, a good REreview, glad you are happy(er).

BUT, saw my first yellow '8' in the flesh yesterday, and BOY am I glad I changed to red! It was parked next to a mazdaspeed Protege in yellow, and they are totally different - the '8' yellow is just awful, wishy-washy, pale and insipid.........

That is not nice to say!! If you hate the Yellow, then keep it for yourself. Lock & Load loves the yellow and it is up to him. I've seen the Yellow RX8 and I think it looks great, very sporty. Saw one Yellow RX8 driving around George St in the city and the car turns head. It almost caused an accident as one 3-series BMW driver keep looking at it.
It is very rude to say someone else's car awful, wishy-washy, pale and insipid. Well, I guess you can, up to you, but not straight to the owner. Red or Yellow? Both looks great, but between the two, I personally prefer the Yellow.

Wink To each his own....

Sorry if I expressed my opinion, it won't happen again!

Don't get me wrong, I love yellow. Indeed I paid many thousands of dollars to change my white Acura to yellow and drove it eight years. The yellow I saw yesterday was not to MY taste.

I am sure Mr. Load will be well pleased with his yellow, and I appreciate you speaking for him.

Driven!

My dealer let me take my RX8 for home for half of Saturday.

I parked it in my driveway and just revved the engine to it's limits for the first time. When I got out of the car I was carrying a borderline hysterical laugh.

We've all had our fair share of cliches describing the cars but all I can say is that this car isn't the fastest out there but I think that Wheels magazine summed it up best when it said that the car had character.

My car is still locked up sitting at the dealership waiting to be picked up by me. Had a minor glitch where old man couldn't get his golf clubs (and motorised buggy) into the boot but I think the pure appeal of the car is an overwhelming factor enough.

I kept looking at the car and thinking to myself that I'd be proud to be owning this car in 3 years time as it looks so damned beautiful....

The car can be hazardous sometimes as people keep staring at it in midst of traffic and this car has tendencies to cause accidents as a result.

One concern, we started out with a full thank - did 55kms and lost a quarter tank of fuel. Bit scary and we didn't exactly drive it too hard. I'm technically challenged but does a car necessarily suck more fuel in the very early stages..?

Smile thanks everyone

Its good to see that you guys and girls have leapt to my defense with my colour choice ,i dont get offended too easily and i truly believe tha the is no thing such as a good or bad colour in the rx8,each one of us have different tastes and opinions ,we all have to be content with our choice of colour STEALTH th choose red good luck to him, i have had 3 different cars in red and now its time for a change .

Anyhow the car is a present from my lovely wife who happens to love the yellow, and i will be celebrating my 50th birthday wining and . romancing her in the rx8 .

NO i wont be posting any pictures , use your imaginations .

50 AND GETTING YOUNGER .
