Spare Tyre?

Can any of the forum users who have taken delivery of a 8 since January 2004 confirm whether their car came with a spare tyre?

Just gone through a brochure which states that it is standard fitment, however rang my selling dealer and questioned why I never received it on at delivery and was told that 04 spec cars don't have them standard.

Does this sound right, or am I sensing something brown and smelly?

Brown and smelly. Not listed as optional here: http://www.mazda.com.au/features_pl.exe?ID=43

Ask them if you have two rotors, or is the second one optional as well?

Edit: Name and shame. We need to put an end to this sort of behaviour.

I've already consulted the site and have even called Mazda HQ.
Still waiting for someone there to give me a bell back.

Just wanted to confirm with other new owners whether it's bovine faeces or it's fair dinkum about the 04 spec.

the spare tyre is a mazda aust fitment and done at the docks when the cars are landed. tell your dealer to cough up or get in touch with mazda aust as well as name and shame him here as suggested.

About time some of these sales men heed some ethics

If it's true - Aussie dollar goes up, car price stays the same and they reduce features. Nice... NOT.

WRONG.

I took delivery of mine in Noverber. I was called by Mazda (not my dealer) to see if I would accept delivery of the car WITHOUT the spare as they had ran out of stock and wanted us 8 owners to get our cars a.s.a.p. The spare came in in Feb and was installed.

go chase your dealer, or ring customer service. they will get right onto it. I've found customer service A1!

I took delivery of mine last Friday, late jan 04 build, it came with the spare....It's collecting dust in Festers workshop as we speak....along with the retainer it comes bolted to.

nice alloy wheel too. I wonder what they are doing with it. they would make a good rally snow tyre

Whats an 04 Spec exactly?

i took delivery of mine 3rd of Feb. It came with a spare and the dealer advised me that Australian Standards demand a spare to be fitted.

Regards
Phillip

mini doesn't have a spare! maybe you don't need one if you have runflat tyres.
i think this car should come with runflats except they don't make them in this size yet, or so i'm told. because if you take out the spare and get a flat..then use the can of goop you wreck the tyre. bam $600-800 bucks for a new one.

FYI, Beaurepairs quoted me $430 for a replacement RE40 225/45/R18. Still not cheap though!
