Servicing: dealer versus "private" company
I'm not too far away from my 10k service and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about using someone other than a mazda dealership to get a service done? I've heard of Rotomotion here in WA who supposedly have a pretty good name (can anyone verify this?) but was wondering if anyone in other parts had some comments to make about experiences going to non-mazda service shops?

The 10k is not too expensive, so it's probably worthwhile road-testing your local dealer to see how he performs. Don't forget, your car is under warranty, so rattles, squeaks and anything else niggly are fixed for free. Also, they do an automatic check on whether you have the latest ECU software (which is free at your service). Only the dealers have access to the ECU flash. Gee, I've just convinced myself - I'll stick with the dealer.

Well, I get interim (5,000k) services done at a specialist rotary shop, just to give them a bit of my business and so they get used to the 8. It's not expensive and it gives me a good sense of back-up expertise.

The only issue willbe that they cant flash your car if one is available. Apart from that I wouldnt have an issue with a non-mazda rotary shop servicing my car, in fact if there was a way for a non-mazda rotary shop to do flash's on the 8 then I would rpefer to.

You can just walk in and ask for a reflash. They should have you out in 30 minutes and should be no charge.
You don't go to do flashes until you see someone here has it anyway.
For oil and fluid changes - I will go to my mechanics. $80/hour to change oil is too expensive.

Purchased NGK leading and trailing Spark plugs for my car got them delivered trough Autobarn total cost $220.00 :D
Exactly the same plugs are sold by Mazda dealers for $320.00
A ROTARY SPECIALIST WILL SERVICE YOUR CAR FAR BETTER FOR LESS COST
