OK sorry to dredge this up again, but I got to looking deeper into the bike rack based on a post over in the europe forum and found this http://www.pendle-bike.co.uk/nulldet...Support%20Rack. Apart from it sounding like a removable pair of breasts they are pretty neat in my opinion. I also found out that Rebel Sport stock them in a 3 a 4 bike assembly. So me being me went to Rebel with my wifes 3-Door Focus (cant test these things out on the 8) and tested them. My only worry is the straps that atatch to the rear windscreen side of the boot and how much force they will apply with 4 bikes attached. Anyway, for $150 I figured I would get one (on Lay By) so I will let you know how they hold up in about 9 weeks.

Ummm..
your boot being ripped off should be secondary to your bumper being crushed.
I tried the Safaris Bones which is a similar design concept and with only one mtb (about 12.5Kgs) I found that it crushed my rear bumper. Luckily with a bit o heat I was able to pop the dents back out.

Andrew Sorry I went quiet but had to take the son and 4 of his teenage mates away on school holidays (I only just survived)
I have other tow vehicles so would not be interested at the moment on a towbar but in the future who knows. I love the look of the towbar through the rear crest however guess who has yet to install the rear fog light he has sitting in the garage. (Just waiting on Taka to translate the wiring colours from Japanese characters to English :D )
