RX8 & Tow Bar

Probably two words that don't belong in the same sentence, but has anyone successfully fitted a tow bar to their RX8, and if so, where do I get one from?

I recently bought myself a new jet ski and I'm getting sick of borrowing other people's cars to tow it all the time...

Yeah - I remember seeing the one that looked like a sex aid. If I was going to do it, I would rather cut a hole in the bumber- so I am not going to do it!

Cheap. 350 quid fitted. part # FE15V3920. Detachable so you can remove it in two minutes and see nothing.

Someone in the States custom made one that exits out of the rear crest. Looks like a Hayman Reece jobbie.

Heavy duty towbars are normally about $600 fitted.......... I doubt the RX8 has a towing capacity over 1000kg.

I still can't get over the look of it but it will have a bicycle carrying capacity. I like the fact that it can be detached.

Bump.

Has anyone seen anything more on this one? I want to buy a catamaran but I need to get a tow bar first? Anyone heard or seen one made locally?

Go buy a used governement fleet pickup with 200K miles for $600 bucks. I seem 'em all the time on auction.

It's probably cheaper than adding a bar to your 8.

To everyone who is considering a Tow bar

The RX8 cannot be expected to be everything to everyone IT already doubles up as 4 seat passenger sports car , so the expectations of using it for towing catamarans or jet skies as well being a daily driver in heavy city traffic and not using too much petrol i feel is unrealistic .

I primarily bought this car as a weekend / fun everiday vehicle to enjoy , but would not have chosen it if i had to use it for work and have to drive in heavy city traffic on a daily basis or wanted to Tow boats / jet skies etc etc .

Also i would not buy this type of car if i did not have a lock up garage or if i lived in a block of flats with an open carport :p

Looking in the owners manual it does list towing capacity 1000kg :D
Catamarans weigh 50-100kg so quite realistic to expect even an rx8 to tow.
Just not too keen on the sex aid pictures in previous posts

Guys how often do you see a porsche boxster or a 911 towing anything ??? or anyother type of performance sports car towing its not its
irrespective of the fact that it has a 1000kg towing capacity indicated for the car and whatever you would like to tow is far less . :p

I agree. If I could afford a Porshe, I could probably afford a second car for towing. But I can't.

There are less phalic options:
