I wouldn't be too disheartened by what's on show. Don't forget, the RX-EVOLV was a which emerged from the cocoon as the useful and quite delightful RX-8. And there must be something planned for that new Renesis. I guess it all depends who's on top: Ford, or the Mazda engineers

Yes but the rx-evolv was first shown I believe in 1999-2000. And how many years later did we even see any press about the RX8?
That Takai only shown recently? The kabura has been out way longer, if anything will go into production I think that could be next..... but I'm with Andrew on this one.. i am lost also on way could happen! I just know the takai looks shocking, the rx-evolv wasnt that bad.

Whatever comes out I will now wait to get the newer model before handing on my 8. I haven't found anything better. I get the goldfish feeling with this car.....fall in love, drive it in traffic...fall out of love......think about Subaru...eekkk , find some twisties.....fall back in love again......I will wait to get the new evolution whatever it is.......
I love the look of the Kabura.....in the gold like i've seen on some sites....looks nice me like it v. much...

I'm still not sold on the Kabura shape but it'll change somewhat for production (if it gets there), so there's little point trying to reach a concluded view at this stage of the game.
Like Julia, I still can't find anything else worth buying and am still tossing up trading in for the facelifted model next year or just hanging onto the current car while saving for a much bigger step up (i.e. something German...and I'm not talking VW, lol).

Anniversary RX-8 Models are now available here in Australia..
Caught a quick look today as I drove past a Mazda showroom, it was in Metropolitan Grey.
The car was reversed in so all I could catch was it's rear end.

Sorry guys...I need new glasses!!!
I checked out the "New" RX-8 Tonight (showroom Closed) but it is not the
Anniversary Model, just a standard Grey 2007 model...
The Mazda Australia website says the Anniversary Model will be available next month (January 08)...
Quote:
The Mazda RX-8 (Wheels Car of the Year in 2003) and MX-5 (Wheels Car of the Year 2005) continue Mazda’s brand dominance of the sports car category – a position which Mazda expects to enhance with the 40th Anniversary limited edition RX-8, due to hit dealerships next month.
