RX-8 fun is over....... :(

Its a sad day at the DMRH household...........

The wife has been complaining about moving the RX-8 for a while & its finally gotten the better of me. Sadly the RX-8 was placed up for sale & a buyer has laid down a deposit.

When the new "Soccer mum"car arrives (Read-CX-7) I'll be surfing the CX-7 forums to sponge up on them. Must say that every CX-7 I have test driven is a major let down in style, features & driving appreciation compared to the up-market RX-8 but she-who-must-be-obeyed usually gets her way in the end.

Just for the record. Pic of the little girlie before its gone for good.........

Sorry to hear Dave. I was most impressed the time you talked to me on the Ausrotary cruise to Newcastle. You were driving the first Cosmo 20B I had ever seen in the flesh and had an RX8 too! I remember trying to explain how rare Cosmo's were to my wife on the way home compared to the Ferrrari's I always point out. I'm glad to hear you are are sticking with Mazda. For value and bang for buck you can't beat Japan.Keep in touch..

Hope you still hang around the forum Dave. You lose the RX-8 but we don't want to lose you.

Dave,

Sad to see you going Dave. As taka said, hope to keep seeing you round here. With the CX-7, Beware the fuel economy and failing turbo's.

Cheers

Andrew

Yeah mate. The wifes spells has no power on my Cosmo. The Cosmo has been neglected sitting in a garage for the last 2-years whilst the RX-8 got all the attention. So happy days for the Cosmo again.

Thanks Matt. Having an RX-8 family car & Cosmo weekender is the stuff Rotorheads love. Always happy to talk shop & will hope we catch up again on another cruise.

Monkey see, Monkey do. The wife has a GF with a CX-7 & has been hassling me for 6-months now to get her one. Using the "Kids are getting too big" excuse was so transparent (Our kids are 2 + 4) but you eventually cave in after months of nagging just to keep the peace.

Like the Eunos 500 & Eunos 800 forums, I will still pop in now & then. Taka, I just appreciate your sentiment as I have tried to make a posative difference.

Typical **** retards at Mazda Australia. FWD + 4WD. 6MT + 6AT versions available everywhere else but Australia. This $40k demo at a Brissy Stealership is the right CX-7 at the right price I feel.

Thanks for the heads up Andrew. If you have 2x rotary powered vehicles to run then you can appreciate that fuel consumption is not too important. The little turbo's popping is however. Warming up & idling down. Oil changes every 5000km + wifes driving style should ensure longevity............ I hope

Hi Dave, would love to catch up...however next week happens to be the one week in the past 2 years that I'm having a holiday up with the family up the north coast. I'm back in Brissie on the Friday night....will you still be around on the Saturday?

Cheers,
Danny

Off topic a bit but there is an Ausrotary cruise on the 1st March. Are you going to bring the Cosmo along?

Delivered RX-8 to new owners today.................

Put money down on the new CX-7.

08-plated model, takes advantage of current Mazda (rego, stamp duty, dealer delivery, additional warranty) deals

Luxury version with almost all the dealer fitted accessories
LCD screen with reverse cam (DVD player coming)
Lowered suspension

Agreed price = $42k

Strangely, the wife found it at the local Mazda dealer just 2km from home so the QLD trip is off.....

Thanks for the heads up Matt, I'll try to get along to that cruise in the Cosmo now it can get more attention
