So far the engine management is awsome....Joe did tell me that if the idle hunts every now and then.. that it will take upto a week or two for the factory ECU to relearn the air flow meter idle voltages ..now that is has a greater air flow due to the blower it will learn to compensate.........but i have not had such issues..it idles like a dream....then again it would all depend on the ECU re-flash you have i guess.. and i always keep upto date on those sort of things..........

i keep hitting the rev limiter....that is a problem with me.. not the PowerMod...... lol...that never happened before...had no need to keep reving it........
i belive that the PowerMod has an option to run a shift light...will have to look into it........hmmmm.....NOS...that i know it can run.........

are you talking about air fuel ratios..? i'll asume you are......no i have no air fuel meter instaled......will ask RM what air fuel it is running.........

it is between 11.9:1 to 12.1:1..depentds on the load.....have a mate with a Lambda setup we pluged in the exhaust....so there is more power in it with 98octane fuel...i thought it would be a bit leaner around 12.5:1...................only the best fuel will do though......same with the 8 now.....

how do you guys cope with the 91 octane fuel in the US
i would ride a bike instead.......

In the US the octane is measured differently. (RON + MON)/2 i.e. the average of the RON and the MON (Motor Octane Number).

Cheers,
Hymee.

Any pics ?
It'd be nice to see it in an engine bay
What wheels and tires are you running ?
How often do you need to service the blower? And is it something that you can do yourself ?
Are you using the stock plugs and oil ?
So many questions

awsome.........the SC is going realy good.............only one problem..not sure if i will have a license in the next few months.........he he......every time i drive it im speeding.. so much fun...

no hick ups what so ever... still drives fine, idles fine.......I drove the car down south for a holiday... long drives, no different to standard appart from the SC sound in the lower rev range...better fuel economy that standard, gain 18-27k's per tank on average...it's hard to stay off boost..he he....im sure closer to 35k's is achievable..but not me..

the SC service is straight forward..Joe at Rotormaster did the first one for me in 10 min, just a little sump plug at the bottom of the blower..easy..... im doing the next one soon........

im realy happy with the setup....enough power for every day driving..i get many funny looks due to the sound..had a few people ask me whats wrong with my car..funny..id usualy reply with something like 'it's just a whinny alternator mate' or 'it's the fan belt'........he he ...fun on so many levels.....he he....

sorry Carl8 i missed you post......

standard engine oil....SC service with everty engine service, doing the next one my self....plugs are standard i belive, will check with RM.......standard wheels.....i haven't taken any pics, but it looks the same as the pics on the Dna motorsport web site.. www.dnamotorsport.com

Maxxx, there are some cruises planned for 29/1 and 12/3 out of Sydney.

Why don't you come along to one so the boys can check out the beast.

They just asked how much the mod was worth and said they'd add it to the agreed value... no catch..

The impression i got was that the car is regarded as a high risk anyway and anymore add-ons don't really matter...

I'm only paying $100 less for the RX-8 than i was for my old MY04 WRX...

AAMI not even insure with an aftermarket ECU... have you marked the consultant's name when you talk to him/her.

It is certainly not consistent in their policy...

I must take up to them about that.
