I've spoken to a dude connected with RM a couple of times now.

He tells me RM's customers to date haven't been the kind of guys who jump on web forums to rave about their cars.

So, we need to wait for someone who is/will/does.

Of course, Maxxx appears to be getting one so we will no doubt hear more from him. Still, a spread of opinion is always nice.

Is this the same blower that Sunflower Mazda in Kansas City was having installed a long time ago?

Thanks

Yikes $11,900 AUD equals $8,713 USD. That allot of cash to spend.

That's the challenge the much smaller Australian market presents. Any developer/supplier has to amortise their development costs over a much smaller potential market base. Unless you build in an export strategy from the start

For those after some more info on the RM supercharger kit - check this link http://www.dnamotorsport.com/.

Keep following the links to more info (there are two separate pages in addition to the homepage).

Why does the power/torque comparison for the NA version start at 40 km/h and the S/C one not start until 80 km/h? It does appear to make good top-end power from that graph.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Does it come with a pre-tuned map to start with?

A very good question. I had thought the same but lack of mechanical knowledge prevented me from venturing forth on the subject.

Will be interested to see a graph in due course (from the same dyno) that charts power and torque from cars fitted with the RM kit and the kit you intend to release (with a NA car as the control).

Although such stats are never the whole story for those who wish to drive their car daily, such objective information would assist potential customers to choose between the respective products when yours is on the market (any update on when that might be?).

Of course, those that market and buy both kits may have an interest in avoiding a direct comparison...

What I find interesting is this...

Procharger's own documentation claims:
http://www.procharger.com/faq.shtml#3
if a supercharger gives your engine 14.7 psi of boost (another atmosphere) that will essentially double the output of your engine, everything else being equal. After adjusting for thermal and mechanical energy transfer, if an efficient centrifugal supercharger is generating 7.5 psi (approx. 1/2 an atmosphere), you will see around a 35-40% gain in horsepower and torque at your non-supercharged maximum horsepower rpm.
...
Assuming the use of intercooling to run higher boost levels while maintaining reliability, a 100% increase can generally be achieved at around 17 psi on an engine with 9:1 compression running pump gas.
While RM / DNA Claim:
(Following Procharger's sites own recomendations, I included references to where I got the info from )

1100 CFM is surely a lot of flow. From my measurements the Renesis flows about 440 CFM NA. I guess the accepted theory is if you can more than double the flow(CFM), you can more than double the power.

Has anyone seen any power requirements to turn these C2 compressors? I didn't see any published with the specs. Just curious.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Its possible to horizontally and vertically stretch 2 different graphs so that the base results line up. Then it should be possible to get a visual indication of the differences between the 2 different dynos and 2 different combos.

Cheers,
Hymee.

One simple question...

How come all you australian ***** make all the supercharger coolness?

We in the UK are suffering big time... I might have to visit my mate in Sydney sooner rather than later!

Well, since you asked so nicely, it's because Aussies have a can do attitude and don't just sit around drinking warm beer and whinging about how cold it is outside...

Having proven our point many times with you Poms re sport, we have now moved on to other fields of development...sadly, this has caused a minor (and temporary) downturn in our sporting results..but watch that space

I think such logic is wasted on him Gibbo.

I mean Cali Style in the UK??? He's got a problem (or an identity crisis).

hehe, i love it when ozzies are on the sporting defensive (mind you its not that ive ever seen it before i think )
Go the Lions this saturday! (crosses fingers)

As for Identity Crisis, im Cali Style cos my 8 is better suited to Cali highway cruising in the sun (like u lucky bastids can do in Oz) rather than shitty trafficy, cold, rainy bad roads in London....(not to mention that i have to pay congestion charge to even go into london)

also to answer Gibbo / Revolver, re: Logik

Hmm methinks you have the queen too, if I'm not mistaken....

As for Ezzy,
its not just your GF matey! half my mates have moved to Sydney etc....

Mind you after having driven out there, I'm surprised you bother making superchargers etc, as the Oz squad are total road *****! more rules and crap than the UK! (if thats possible)

had the blower now for just over a week.....fantastic..........................
i have put over 500km on it already and i need to take it to RM for the initial blower service..........

it is much better than i expected.....it is almost like a new car....well the excitement is back BABY......soooo smooth....................it pulls realy well ...... all the way to 9 grand.......doesnt miss a beat...... i wasnt expecting the mid-top end march this setup has..then again it was what Joe had been telling me all along..... 203rwk this thing rips now.... cant wait to line up a yupie porsche or some supercar wanna be.........going to be so much fun blasting those skyline's....the biggest smile on my face was from frying the rubber propper in my 8..not just a little pissy burnout.....im talking ripping through the gears....... zoom zoom.. finaly..............now i can hang the *** out some..im having too much fun....i realise now that this is the reason i purchased the car......

i sounds awsome.........they should come out of the factory like this........

had sort of put it off for a bit....work is a killer at the moment.........then Joe from RM call me up to let me know they are having a special for a short time and he will make the offer available for me as i have given him a deposit on the kit........$10.5k instaled and tuned.........SOLD.......

i just arranged a tow to RM and back..........well over due...lol....... got the car back in two days.......

class A service by Rotormaster............

will over time keep updating this thread...i think this setup will be good long term...... it only runs 7psi...but the power is there at just a stab of the right foot... im still in awe as to the power delivery...like Joe was saying when i went to see him ..it is just like a realy powerfull NA.....there is no bucking or carrying on......it just nails you in the seat and hauls ***......

again class A kit and service.....

Glad to hear that your blown-away with the setup. How is the engine management working? Can you data log your ratios?
