Be carefull where you place your registration label in your RX8 as it may interfere with the little sensor above the glove box on the dashboard .

Apparently this sensor can effect the running of your air / heating cooling .

An incorrect reading can be had if your registration label blocks this weather / temperature sensor .

The registration label could be placed on the left hand side rear door window .

Could not find any reference to the sensor in the RX8 manual , so any further information most welcomed .

Actually, my dealer pointed this out to me on delivery, cos I couldn't see the label at first. He showed it to me on the LH rear window, and explained the reason, exactly as you did above

 

i will ask the service guy on friday when i take the 8 in for the SSP thingy

No wonder the climate control is funny....

 

When I first picked up my car the dealer had put the rego sticker right where it would block light to the sensor. Thankfully I put custom plates on and got the chance to replace the sticker higher up on the window so that it wouldn't affect climate control.
