Protection Pack

How many people got the protection pack???
Is it worth it??

I heard it from friends, it is not worth to get the protection pack because normally, your new car will have those protaction already( like protect from bird ****), those package is just allow you to replace it once it gone out. Also they said it is too expensive because Mazda will earn the most from this stuff, that's why the dealer always force you to get this stuff.

I deliberately got no add-ons or accessories directly from the dealer as they make a hefty margin on everything. You can always source them elsewhere cheaper.

e.g. I got my factory floor mats cheaper by ringing around spare parts places after I bought the car.

We want details... I would plan to get the MP3 and the side plates... where else you can get them?? I think if you order the accessories the day of the delievery and get them in 2 weeks then you don't have to pay for luxary car tax... save about $150 for the MP3.

Ming does them for my Honda.. It would be about $700 from the dealer or $400 from the place directly... but the city Mazda said they use a different one... that reminds me to do research on that.

Never get the accessories from the dealer!!!!
For my case, I wanna get the inner door protectors, I ask my dealer before I got my car, they said it's cost around $80 for a pair. I ask them again after I got my car, they said is cost $110 now, what the hell? it's only a rubber, cost $110? No Way!!

At the end, I went to the parts and accessories department, they said it's only cost $23 for a pair including all the tax!!!!

Don't ever get anything from the dealer, it is expensive and they know nothing about it.

By the way, my dealer told me, even you got your car, within a year, any accessories you brought, you still need to pay the luxury tax.

And of course even I wanna get the protection, I won't get it from the dealer, I will go to the parts and accessories. But is the one from Mazda a good protection? or outside is better?

Also, the package are including a lot of stuff, they even protect th bottom of the car, all I want is to protect from bird ****, you know, the one you can see there is a thick layer.

Should I get it now? or should I wait a bit longer since my car is still new.

The protection pack is just an after sales money making racket.

It adds no resale value, provides less protection than if you did it yourself, and provides the dealers with a healthy profitable sideline. It is like McDonalds and their french fries.

If you want to protect the paint, then use a decent wash (Zymol) and cleaner wax (Zymol). I can't recommend this stuff enough.

Get your windows tinted elsewhere and save a couple of hundred. Buy some leather protector and Scotchguard from an auto shop and save yourself a couple of hundred more.

WHAT A BULLSHIT.... I am sure I can drive a **** car to Mazda and buy the accessories they only charge you GST. WHO SAID you have to own an RX8 to buy the accessories.

THINK ABOUT THAT

I just WORRIED about if they stuff up the window then I have to end up paying for it. All of the warranty thing. That why it is safer to do it with dealer. I am sure I can get better film outside but would you give the car ...... I suppose they are professional but get their dirty hand after I collect the car>????? If I have it done pre delivery.. at least if have problem they have to fix that for free... I dunno I need some light
