Portable Sat Nav - Point of Interest (POI) database

I brought a Garmin coz it is the easiest to use (it is for Mrs Taka, you know) and wanting to put some POI files for speed cameras and stuff in. I have the one that Garmin provided, not bad but want to join a database or some really updated files.

Anyone know?

I saw some and need subscription, but I need feedback on quality before I pay!

Thanks in advance

sorry taka I can't help you on the main question;

one stupid default setting on my partners garmin was the "use unsealed roads" was on by default. took her via a 4WD track that wasn't suitable for sports cars as it was the shortest route.

Shouldn't you get a few free updates when you purchase, my tomtom XL did I think.

OT: PSP releasing satnav.

I hear SatNav is coming out soon for it only available in Japan atm.

Or if you crack it, you could run google earth GPS maps thru your memory stick.

There are free stuff but they are far from updated.

The best are the ones that has all the fixed speed camera data and possible mobile speed camera spots.

The best option is one that can take the street addresses from the file released by the police and convert it to lat/long. You can get software to do it but its VERY EXPENSIVE http://extranet.mapinfo.com/products...ctcategoryid=1

The problem is I have a few that prob makes one set of speed camera come up as 4 icons on the map!

EDIT: Oh I fixed that problem by choosing one file.

EDIT: EDIT: I delete this file as I posted something better below

doh, I forgot, mine's navman, not sure if it works with .gpx file. I'll have to try upload it later as I left the satnav in my car.

Here's navman's one (can also download from their website)
