Ouch! Blew a tyre.

I was glad that I'd left the "wheelbarrow tyre" in the boot yesterday after running over a small but thick and curved shaped piece of metal that flicked up and gouged a hole in the sidewall of the back left tyre.

The car handled the blow out beautifully and I was not immediately aware that I'd done a tyre, or which one it was.

I was on my way back from the computer shop where I'd picked up a gig of RAM to allow me to beef up the settings on the game I'm playing. I guess it's appropriate that the game is called Far Cry, given what it's going to cost me to buy a new Bridgestone..

Great to see the car make so little fuss about blowing a tyre though.

Looked ridiculous driving home though.... "Honey, I washed my wheel and it shrank.....". Maybe I could pass it off as an experimental setup for anticlockwise circuit racing...

Check out the price of the P S-03s It is going to be the nearly the same price as the RE040. As HSV uses it now, the price is going to come down further more!

This has got me thinking....I wonder if the full size Falcon spare will fit on the Mazda and whether the OD is the same??? Then I could toss that ugly little yellow thing out into the backyard for the dog to chew!!

Go "always need more shed space" mez.....

Nothing important in the way of rim damage fortunately. Just a very small dent or chunk about the size of my little fingernail - and not on the front face of the rim.

Funnily enough it's about 30cms away from the spot where the tyre got slashed so it must have hit a couple of times. It was a hefty piece of metal, about 5mm thick that looked like it might be from a truck or farm machinery.

A bit hard to work out just what sort of motion it must have followed or whether it was flicked up first by the front tyre, or what. I'd better take the front tyre off too and give it a thorough check in case there's some impact damage there too.

Taka, thanks for the tip about the other spec of tyre. I expect I'll have to just replace it with the same one this time around as the other 3 have only done around 3000ks. One to check out when I get a full set perhaps.

I'm usually more of an RPG or Strategy player, rather than Shooters, but Far Cry is just amazing.

I told my wife I'd just play for a few more minutes last night when she went to bed... next time I looked at my watch it was 2.15 a.m.
