Talking Ordered my RX-8, Delivery Next Week

ZOOM ZOOM!

Signed on the dotted line today.

RX-8 Leather Pack in Winning Blue
Wing
Fender Strakes
Front & Rear Rotary Motiffs
Mats
Paint Protection
Tint
Extended Warranty

Drive away = $61,000

$45,000 change over plus my 2001 SP20 with 38K on the clock trade-in for nominal value of $16,000.

Delivery next week – already anxious.

Got a dealer quote from Suncorp Metway for $938.77 for the car fully comprehensive with 2 year new replacement. Will have to see if AAMI (who only offer 1 year new replacement) can get close.

Taking the demo I test drove today home tonight to let my better half have a go and cruise around a bit!

ZOOM ZOOM! (again!)

Congrats my fellow Winning Blue owner!
It's been a long time coming, but it'll be well worth it in the end.

One question, why did you get the rear spoiler?
It ruins the lines of the car IMO.

I think nojooc is a purest at heart, you stick with whatever "rotates your rotor"!

Some of us like our tail, makes a convenient handle for opening the boot if nothing else....and it's purty.

LOL in fact PML!!

We saw the sun for the first time this weekend I'll have you know.
Joined the local rotor club for a get togethre and there were R100's, 2s, 3s, 4s, 4 series's of 7's, cosmos, a couple of "rx"323 , "rx" mx5s and a toyo ute with about 22 grand in it!

Great to see the heritage. And the sunshined down on us!

WooHoo! Goodonya Kiwimeat..... :D .

That's a great price on the insurance, I'd give AAMI a miss....even if they are cheaper. Plenty here who have had bad experiences with them.

Keep your enthusiasm in check and give the car a good once over before leaving the dealer. Check the operation of EVERYTHING, check all fluid levels (especially the engine oil) and go over the body with a fine tooth comb. It's too late to complain about a small scratch after the horse has bolted.....

You probably did all this with the SP20 anyway!

Hope you have a happy dealership experience, enjoy the day. I know you will love the car .

Regards, Gomez.

... repeat, check the oil level ... there's been a few stories of overfills.

Anyway, congrats at last. So there'll be another silly grin that'll be on the streets of Brisbane next week

As to the spoiler, I just wonder why we can't get the tasty little lip style they have in Europe??

As for the colour, well, it's a healthy thing that not everyone picks Velocity Red :D :D

Thumbs up

Thanks for the all the good wishes and advice.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience over the last 12+ months.

The advice I have received from many of you has been invaluable in my final acquisition of the RX-8.

My wife is still not entirely happy but I'll let you know more in a couple of hours after we get back from running the RX-8 demonstrator I have tonight all over the Northside.

I look forward to meeting some of you at future events.

Cheers

$61K, that's a great price. Congrats on the purchase. I paid $67,500 with zero extra's when I pre-ordered mine.

I'm with AAMI too, and not withstanding other peoples experiences, I had to make a claim earlier in the year and found them to be excellent.

Eagers Mazda had floor stock of 4 RX-8's in Leather - drive away for 6MT or 4AT = $63000!

Kinda puts my deal in perspective. But I am happy anyway,

Also managed to fight off the very determined efforts of the Customer Care rep trying to get me to upgrade my car protection to the "complete package".
Who would have though that there more than 1 level of paint protection and 2 types of Tint Upgrade? Not to mention Electronic Rust Protection, Interior protection, etc...

Not adding any more to the cost of the car - just driving the demo car tonight brought home how much more my fuel bills are going to be!

Of course will need to find the cash for a Hymee grill - if he has stock.

Hi All

As a former owner of an Mx-5 which was written off by a stolen car....my cheque came today..

I should be a RX-8 owner very shortly.
Just got of the phone to Mazda Parramatta.
Getting the same deal as kiwimeat but in velocity red.
The guy said he can beat 61k.

Thanks for all the info on this site it's great.

Congrats kiwimeat,

I reckon its a good choice as well! It'll take years to wipe the smile off your face! )

You'll probably get yours a week or so before I get my new Winning Blue "replacement" for my "used to be RX8" Titanium. But as it is a like-for-like replacement, no dead cow and fruit in this one. Oh well, it'll be nice to have a new one, we both can enjoy that experience

I will also be seeking a second installation of the Hymee Grill and Exhaust combo - MkII hey Hymee?

Congrats on joining the "Winning" team.

Hymee's new MKII exhaust boasts such features as "non-blackening tips", handy for keeping the blue paintwork around the exhaust clean.

Thanks Tony,

Glad to see you are getting a new car so quickly and hopefully without fuss.

I dropped my Rego slip for the SP20 in today whilst returning the demo I had overnight and was told I am getting a new one straight off the boat which arrived today. Delivery should still be next week but closer to Friday that before.

Congratulations. Your patience has paid off. You certainly managed to pull off a good deal. My car cost almost $72k on the road with all the extras

I bought my car from him and he was great. Make him work for it though, he will get you a great deal.
