I know that this will be answered in a flash, but I've been thinking about hte oil pressure gauge and wondering why all my previous cars have had the oil pressure rise under rev load whilst in the 8 it stays constant through the rev range.

Why is this so?????

 

The 'oil pressure gauge' is in fact just indicator showing that there is enough pressure in the system. It is just on/off and does not show how much pressure there is. At least this is how it is in my RX8 (hi power, 6MT bought in Europe) and the same is in my MX5.
I was a bid disappointed when I learned this.
