NSW RX8 (TAKA & KALL'S) CRUISE 12/3/06

i dont want you to only go cos your my lift, im sure i can find another way there, even if it involves me driving the 3..
but i wanted you to go cos i didnt want your weekend ruined cos of this accident! you have been lookin forward to it for a while, and you shouldnt have to miss something like this because of some accident!
if your damaged, so what, you can still have an awesome day, and your car will still look great amongst all the others!

Thanks all for a great cruise today.
Good to meet some new folk and see some old faces too. Traffic aside there was some great driving and methinks some of those roads would warrant a return visit after midnight some dark weeknight.
Fantastic weather too although the back of my neck is feeling lobsterish!
Great to see Hank made it and allowed us all to drool over his S/C kit. Hope the girls weren't too bored mate (ditto Mikey).
Big thankyou to Brigi for bringing along a boot full of stuff for the kids - very kind.
Don't want to steal Waldo's thunder so I'll leave it to him to post stats of numbers, colours, mods, etc. Roll on the photos.

Well What a day it was yesterday, and I don't mean just coz it was a Sunday . I almost didn't make it on the day, due to my mothers health after she returned from o/seas, but I was definitely glad I was able too .
The day started with me greeting Eric/Kall & Dave at the meet point . As the minutes ticked over the RX8's were appearing, like it was a a National RX8 Day . There was many different colours on the day(sorry didn't keep track of total colour numbers), and the only one's not to make an appearance was the Nordic green, white, aqua. There was even Hank's S/C , and then the rest ummm 26 RX8's in total . And yes that is an Australian Record, so cheers . Also considering it would have been 27, but we somehow lost u mate(Kiet), apologies. Also big effort from the Canberrians too 8 cars, tops stuff and great to catch up too. Although tim u taste pretty sh!thouse
Anyway from the meetup point it was a short drive to Woronora Dam, where the photographers went to work . And Some of us went for the walk onto the dam, which I think was pretty cool(and I think most did too) which has quite a lookout . We then starteds the journey to Wollongong, and keeping 20 or so cars in a row was a little difficult, but we managed to keep it that way for the entire trip . We also passed along the way a Ferrari club(5 cars), which was also a sight but not as much as we were hehe .
Upon arrival at the lighthouse(gong), it was a parking packed day at this venue due to the brillant whether. I thought for a second we were goin to have problems. But we all managed to use a whole car park and double up too . We were able to get a bite to eat/ice cream and plenty more photos while we were down there. From there we then said goodbye and decided to go back thru the national park. Which was a nice drive but would have been better if there was no taffic in front of us , oh well can't ask for too much
Then we were off to our own ways.
I'd like to thank all members & families for making the journey and making it an awsum day. I have to thank all the intersaters for making the journey to Sydney, and I hope u had a great day(Im sure u did). It was great to catch up with u and have a chat. Also like to thank our photographers on the Day Tom & Xcentrik, can't wait till the photos are out .
Anyway Hope every1 enjoyed themselves and I hope to see you on the next one stay tuned
Cheers

I was welcomed back with some 4 season weather also.. i was warned by friends b4 i left syd that it was pourin down rain.. then i was told it stopped and became warm.. then cold again.. and well im a bit warm at the moment lets just say!! g8 to be bak Melby!!
Well my trip was good, spent heaps of time walking, shopping and hanged out heaps wit Eric. We had a fair few adventures..... ahem. Our final adventure was driving home from the cruise, someone decided to continuesly press the brakes around the twistys in the National Park LOVED that brake on the CORNER, i loved it when eric flung his arm infront of me to stop me from having a complete whiplash episode, instead some chest soreless sore from seat belt almost choking me. Other then that, it was a good drive. Good weather aswell.
I enjoyed meeting you all. Was good to finally put faces to the names, and well was great to see I was told that i do live up2 my reputation of wat im like on the forum haha enuff said..
Adrian, must admit, ur a lot different then I expected Pretty cool person, I enjoyed chitchatting to you.
Tim(tam), mate...... that line you came up with.. "eat me.." loved it, pity it was just a joke Loved my little play fight with you over your hat, i wasnt impressed when you grabbed mine.. ruined my hair.. and tryin to fix it up in the car with erics suspension.. didnt help either hehe
Mr & Mrs Jellybean.. what can I say. Great people, really appreciated the advice and chat we had
Eric.. not sayin anythin about you, you dont count.. i already knew you
Dave - loved the rims, looks great on the tit grey. You are lucky we left the lighthouse when we did.. i was getting bored with Tims hat.. i was thinking of coming after yours lol
LilJohn.. your not quite so little are ya!! You are awesome, enjoyed meeting you and chatting to you about various things . Glad you were able to make it
Kunz... well thanks for shaking my hand and instantaneously saying "you look different.." well hey.. you looked different too Bak at ya mate!!
RX8Newby + friend, good guys, nice to meet you both!!!
hmm So many people...... sorry if I left any of you's out. The canberra guys were all so friendly. I apologise on behalf of timtam, for umm ur dirty cars... I dont feel so bad anymore about my 8 being dirty
Oh oh how can I forget this.. Zoomby.. buddy.. pal........... mate ..... hope u didnt get pissy with my little episode.. I wore GLOVES!!!!! I didnt leave any finger prints I promise.. I even had a cloth in erics boot incase i accidently did dirty it
So thanks to every1 for being friendly and welcoming.
