took my rx to dealer and on the way out the clutch started squeaking as it was slowly released,,,

anyone have a cure for a squeaky clutch... i sprayed some lube on the coil attached to the clutch .. this temporarily fixed the problem but i wonder if anyone has any better ideas

Turn up the stereo

Haven't had that problem though. What are you spraying on it? Teflon?

Not had that problem on the '8.

I did however have similar on my 5.0 VT Clubsport, and it was traced to lack of lube on the clutch release arm / throwout bearing (inside the bell housing). I thought it was inside the cabin - just goes to show.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Strategically place a couple of mouse traps inside the cabin of the car and hopefully that should do the job of catching the mouse responsible for the squeeking

Just kidding, had a similar problem before in my 200sx, and just like Hymee, I thought it was inside the cabin, but it turned out to be from inside the bell housing.

Don't worry too much about, just take it to Mazda and get them to fix it, after all, that's what warranty is for.

<edit>

It was worse in my old Integra R - common problem in Honda sports cars. No big deal if your used to putting up with a POS Honda, but something that is not tolerable in a Mazda, and the service people will glady fix.

:p :p :D :D

Cheers,
Hymee.
