I was surfing the net looking for quality nose kit for the 8 and found a beauty on www.ngkits.com.........check it out....what ya think?

Looks like a cross between the Ings and the Veilside front bar IMO. Not bad.

US$649 + freight from US.....and it's made of urethane not fibreglass

Not bad, plastic can be better than fibreglass. There are good and bad plastic and good and bad fibreglass.

Well, if you want your RX-8 to look like a Trans-Am, go for it. Does the stuff meet Australian design rules for impact resistance?

I don't think it needs to, if the actual crash bumper still fits behind it. the origional would add little if anything towards crash protection.

I'd tend to agree with 'envy on that. When you pull the "bumper" off, you see all the impact absorbing stuff mounted to the chassis structure. The bumper would appear to be just aerodynamic and/or aesthetic dressing.
