New cabin filters fitted

Decided to change the standard cabin filters on the RX-8 this weekend.

Removed the originals for the better aldehyde filters & as can be seen in the pics, it seems like the change was well overdue.

Removing them was easier than I first thought. Drop the glove box (so easy) & bingo, there they are. I suggestto you all to check & change yours before too long if mine where anything to go by......

MikeyR, this might be a good excuse to drink fizzy malts and tell lies - let me know if you're keen.

Hey Dave, MikeyR and I are going to swap ours over. I've had a look for them at onlinemazdaparts.com and another place but can't locate them.

Where'd you source yours and how much? Part number handy?

Many thanks...

G'day from DMRH

The filters where purchased from the powers above.............

Actually, I clicked on the RX-8 Strakes link at the top of the page & looked under "maintenance". The plain filter was US$40 & the Aldhyde is US$55.

Here is the direct link............. >>> RX-8 strakes web site <<<

Couldn't help myself & purchased a few other items too, so beware as you troll that site, its addictive...............

Have ordered them. Nice site - very easy to navigate. I picked up some spare oil filters too. Would have got spare plugs but they were out of stock. Don't need any more bling though...

No wonder my filter is so clean.... I seldom let air con get outside air. Too much exhaust smoke

Hmm, not sure. I suppose it does.

I've never really liked the idea of recirc unless in heavy stalled traffic or near a fire. For some reason I prefer fresh air coming into the car.
