Have been looking at a very good FI option that will be available soon but the costs here landed will not give me any change out of $7000.00 without installation and because of the 10.8/1 compression on the engine they were planning on keeping boost to a conservative level and see a hp level between 230-250hp.
220hp with the simplicity of bolt ons and a little tuning at 1/3 the price for me at the moment is the better option. Of course after a while when the FI has proven reliable and the bugs fully worked out I could always at that on top of the bolt ons. With that sort of power level though I think I would get myself into some serious trouble!

Thanks for all the info Stu.
Even at $7K, FI is nearly half the price of blowing an 8.
The MX5 is a much easier car to mod from everything I've read. Apart from the more straightforward engine design, I guess the much bigger market leads to more products being developed faster and for less cost.
Hmmm, you've certainly got me thinking.
