Have been looking at a very good FI option that will be available soon but the costs here landed will not give me any change out of $7000.00 without installation and because of the 10.8/1 compression on the engine they were planning on keeping boost to a conservative level and see a hp level between 230-250hp.

220hp with the simplicity of bolt ons and a little tuning at 1/3 the price for me at the moment is the better option. Of course after a while when the FI has proven reliable and the bugs fully worked out I could always at that on top of the bolt ons. With that sort of power level though I think I would get myself into some serious trouble!
awesome!
how about 50hp NOS kit to keep up with taka on the straight?

From all the research it would appear the engine management tunes are very similiar. Dyno results, torque curves are all very much alike and the dyno after the intake install also pretty matched the US ones. So all looks good for these mods to also show similiar results here!

Thanks for all the info Stu.

Even at $7K, FI is nearly half the price of blowing an 8.

The MX5 is a much easier car to mod from everything I've read. Apart from the more straightforward engine design, I guess the much bigger market leads to more products being developed faster and for less cost.

Hmmm, you've certainly got me thinking.
