murcott theory - please read

Hey Guy's! Its been a long time since I have posted, however I have been reading.

Today I, as most of you recieved a letter inviting us once again to join in on the fun of the murcott driving day. Nothing suspicious until i figured it was the 3rd time i've been formaly invited.

Strange yet? Well my cars been running great apart from a whining diff on the freeways and crappy starts/idle which is typical of a rotary however doesnt my warranty become void if the car is/has been used on a race track ?

Is mazda trying to get us on the track to avoid fixing warranty issues?

please explain!

Mazda sold me the car based on an an official full colour advertising brochure clearly stating and depicting the RX-8 suitable for certain "Track" work. So they wouldn't want to. They can bring up the abuse clause, but that is "grey".

You should be OK though. They are pretty tough. Just be sensible.

I don't think the course is a thinly veiled attempt to avoid warranties. That would be stupidity.

Cheers,
Hymee.

My quick view: What Mazda is offering via Murcott's is advanced driver training, not competitive track work. Provided you do not undertake any spirited driving beyond that encourage/condoned by Murcotts on the day, there should not be a warranty issue, nor should there be an insurance issue (but check your company). Certainly, AAMI encourages its policy holders to undertake these courses.

I spoke to Mazda with regards to future warranty claims etc, and they informed me that by taking part in the Murcott day, you will not jepardise your warrantee. The indemnity that they sent out was one that was drawn up by Murcott's and hence why it is so broad. I had all of the same concerns - that if something was to go wrong say two weeks later that Mazda would say bad luck you participated in track work, but I was told that in no way would this be the case!!

Hope this eases some peoples minds!! I know it eased mine.

You only have 30 minute of track time in Murcott RX-8 drive day anyway (by looking at the program)!

BTW: Kas... thank god that you start talking
